They are not the same team as last year, their best player Antonio is injured, it's not at the Boleyn. They're hobbling to the end of the season.

I was never confident of the game last year, but if we apply ourselves and get on top of them, they should roll over.

Agree with this entirely, different team from last year, no Payet and crap confidence/mentality and playing on a ground with no atmosphere, judging by the way we dug in last night I'd expect to not have many problems in that match.

I know it's a forum and all that... but looking a little far ahead of ourselves here. Beating Arsenal will not be easy, they have managed to recoup some momentum and will be just as eager to dent our League hopes as we are to banish the finishing below them hodoo, especially in what is set to be our final NLD at WHL.

I believe we can win, no question, but until that happens, I am not even thinking about West Ham or Leicester.

IF we can reduce the gap to 1 point this weekend then the pyschological impact on Chelsea will be HUGE. There will be no escaping it. The media will get all spun up in the title race being well and truly on and, unlike last season where every man and his dog wanted plucky little Leicester to triumph, EVERYONE wants to see it come down to the last day because it's better for the neutral and a fair chunk of those neutrals want to see us catch and beat Chelsea to the title. As my Reading supporting mate put it, I just like to see new teams winning the league so I really hope Spurs do it.

The trick for me is that if we are 1 point behind and we then go top after beating West Ham then all of a sudden we're the ones being chased and I'm not loving that idea. I suppose the likelihood is that Chelsea would then win to go back top on equal games played and the first time we'd have a fair shot and being properly top is the weekend they play away to West Brom. Lose or draw there and we beat United on 14th and we'll be top by 1 or 2 points with two games to play, that will be hard going cos it would be Leicester next and those pricks would love to knock us back down below Chelsea.

It's gonna be tough but just imagine if we did it. Forget how unlikely it may seem, just imagine how glorious it would be.

You're not loving the idea of being top of the table with three matches to go? That's a pretty hot take right there.

Problem is chelsea have pretty much at least 2 bankers in there last 4 games and possible 3. Watford/sinderland and boro have no chance at the bridge so we have 2 games to get on par or past them.

There are no bankers...last year we drew at home to WBA in the heat of the run in after going on a long winning run. They had nothing to play for.

Chelsea have lost to Crystal palace and Drawn away at Burnley. Football is a funny old game.

Just as an aside, if we weren't doing what we are doing chelsea would be cruising to the title and can you imagine the wankfest in the media? Sky would be creamimng and there'd be whole programmes about "is this chelsea side the best ever premier league team" there'd be comparisons with Barcelona when they were unbeatable under Pep.
We really are doing the country a favour.

THIS!! think everyone is getting ahead of themselves, they've had a couple of positive results just before they play us, which is typical, and no matter how disillusioned that squad is, they'll love to win the last ever NLD before the old girl gets brought down, thing about the goons is they have their egos, and that will be a big boost to theirs!

Nothing to play for in mid table is one thing, and then there's already being down, which will certainly be the case with one if not both of them

Sunderland are hopeless. Middlesbrough just a tiny bit less hopeless

WBA were a decent side, last season and this season. Watford are more in line with them - London derby (ish), interesting to see which one turns up. Altho the fact they've already lost 10 away doesn't look too hopeful

As exciting as this title race is I just can't let myself believe we can win all remaining games. Arse will want to beat us. Spam ditto. Utd need to win to get top 4 and Leicester would love to return the favour.
Maybe I've supported spurs for too long but I just can't see it.

Please let me be wrong.

Don't think it's a Spurs team. They are all extremely tough fixtures. To win game after game is so hard. Not one slip up! I don't see Chelsea slipping up in two either so the ask is just huge

Newcastle.

That had as much to do with us as them, in my opinion. The league had gone, we could only finish 2nd at best, and we gave up. We took 2 points from our last four. Not the same with Chelsea, they're in pole, have been much of the season and will not be out of contention at all.

Also Newcastle, despite being relegated along the way, were undefeated in their last six taking 12 points including a point against City and an away point at Anfield, beating us, Swansea and Palace. With new manager bounce they were on fire.

Sunderland have taken 2 points in last 7 games with no new manager in sight & depending on results only one defeat away from relegation. Middlesbrough have had a new manager in charge for a bit but before scraping a 1-0 win against done and dusted Sunderland had 2 points in 9 games

Both are at the bridge, and both have terrible away records (Sunderland 2/1/13, Middlesbrough 1/7/9). Boro drew at the Emirates and City earlier in the season so if they've still got something to fight for we could maybe hope draw but they look a different team now. Sunderland meanwhile is as near to a gimme as you can get.

On the flip, Everton have the 3rd best home record in the league and a good history against Chelsea. Similarly West Brom have 9 wins at home, even if Pulis is on hols already. We need them to drop points in those games or it's done.

So I'm guessing that the 22 wins we got so far were against teams who just don't want or need points?

We need an Everton win. Neither of those are getting anything

Completely agree! I know in football anything can happen of course. But as far as im concerned the boro and sunderland games are 2 victories for chelsea for definate.
Watford have a very remote chance as they are physical and its a london derby and a big game for them. The managers also dislike eachother so i see a slim chance of a freak result there.
West brom have a slightly bigger chance of taking point off chelsea as they will try make it difficult for them to score and they themselves are a menace at set pieces.
Everton have the biggest chance of course and this is the game in which we 100% need chelsea to slip up.

The slight problem we have is that whether chelsea lose or draw to everton doesnt really matter. Mentally a defeat would be better of course but a loss and draw in 2 of chelseas games will still leave us needing wins in every games just as 2 draws would.

If Everton get anything against Chelsea the lane will be rocking but if they don't I hope the fans and the players are still up for the last ever NLD at our home.
