Peter taylor on Talk sport discussing the title etc. accidently said "we" when talking about Spurs!
Didn't he manage Leicester? Once a Spur always a Spur!

I was 13 when we last won the title.
We were so much better then anyone else at the time and only bad luck and injuries stopped us winning it the next season.
IF anyone had told me or anyone else then that it would take over 50 years for us to be challenging again they would have been laughed at , but unfortunately it has taken us that long.
So I intend to lap up and enjoy every minute of it. I think this season is only the prelude to better things to come as we are such a young team , but at my age I cant afford to think too far ahead so am not having negative thoughts and am looking forwarded to the next few months with a bit of trepidation but mainly pride in what we have achieved so far this season and optimism that it will get even better. I could see us playing really well but conceding to a wonderstrike from Aguero or somesuch, we are absolutely dismantling teams at the moment, but its fair to say we haven't played against any players capable of pulling a goal out of their arse from nothing since Huth in the loss at home . Really think we can get at their defence though!

I agree. The one thing I am confident of is that we will put in a strong performance, we always do these days.

Me too - the setup seems very similar to the year that we went there and lost 3-2, Bale scored a cracker and Defoe narrowly missed a tap-in. Think it was the 'mind-the-gap' year under Arry so with that in mind, im not getting excited about any potential achievements until mid-March at the earliest.

I hear person after person saying something similar to this but I don't buy it, this season more than any other in my 20 odd years of being a Spur have I seen us play with such confidence and steel. Other seasons with Jol, Harry and AVB where we looked like we could do something because the team had talented individuals we always lacked mental toughness and even to a degree hard work and discipline as a team. Poch in his short time has turned this around and I genuinely do not think we will drop off, I dont know if we will win it but I think we will be right in the mix up untill the final weeks.

Just realised Leicester's last game of the season is Chelsea away.

I think both us and Arsenal can forget about getting any favours on the final day.
Terry's last game. Hiddink too. They're not gonna roll over.

And it would be the most spursiest of spursys if Townsend ruins it all for us last game.

The reigning title of "most spursy moment" is still held by Liverpool.

Saying they won't "do a Tottenham" only to proceed to do even worse than that is more "spursy" than anything we've done yet.

To a certain degree, you are right. However, if we look at PPG, it will take drastic changes to average PPG for big changes to happen for league positions. Take United. Our present PPG is approx. 0.3 higher than theirs. To catch up with us, they would have to fetch approx. 0.54 points more than us per game. Have you seen anything of late that truly suggests it is likely?

No but it wasn't long ago they were higher than us in the league. Meaning that their ppg was higher than ours.
If we lose against city and they win against sunderland the ppg they need to get more than us drops significantly.

We are favourites and rightly so but to assume utd are out of it is wrong. There is a way to go yet.

I think 1 club is evident. Leicester has been better from start to this point in the season. They simply have been. They win more, loose less, score more and they beat us. To win the title, that's what must change. We must become better than Leicester. Which we are not at the moment.
They're more effective and have more points but no way better than us, come on! We play real football how the game should be played.

Last year in the final month and a half of the season we went 3-1-2

That's a points per game of 1.66

Our whole season was a points per game average of 1.68

So try again mate, a difference of 0.02 does not show a significant drop off.
Last year, we averaged 1.6 or 1.8 through March and 1.375 after.

I think the key is they will attack us, which is exactly what we want. We just have to score more than them!

Yep you will prob see Chelsea finally throw a few youngsters in in the final few games if they have nothing to play for. Let's hope Newcastle are clear of relegation too

From 365's winner and loser column:

We’re not sure we can say it better than Watford boss Quique Flores: “For me, it’s the best [team we’ve played]. We played twice against [Manchester] City, twice against Tottenham, twice against Chelsea, and I think this is the more complete team. It was impossible [to deal with them] We try to train a lot and try to take care a lot what happens in transition. We know perfectly what we want to do when we [recover] the ball, we try to play, but it was impossible.”

Twenty-five shots. Twenty-bloody-five shots. There were no outfield starters for Tottenham who did not have at least one attempt on goal. Christian Eriksen – playing centrally in the absence of Dele Alli – made eight key passes. It was relentless. After Manchester City utterly failed to deal with Leicester on Saturday, how the hell will they cope with the Tottenham tsunami?

Unlike Leicester, Tottenham’s style (as close to Jurgen Klopp’s Dortmund as we currently boast) does not need a compliant opposition. Watford were by no means compliant, but they were powerless against a Tottenham side Flores went on to call “animals”. Good luck to an ageing, vulnerable City; it’s difficult to envisage anything other than a mauling.

Nope the title is not happening. If this was a normal year, we'd miss out on 4th. This year, I think we'll fall short of 3rd by 2 or 3 points. We'll end with 68-70 points. Unfortunate because my hope is to get 3rd place, which would really secure Champions League football as we'll get into the group stages automatically.

Why? When you look at prior years, the points tally really isnt different at all and maybe just a bit above average. Also, i dont think this season is any different wrt the standard Pochettino collapse heading into the final month and a half of the season.

Standard pochetino collapse? Where are you even getting this nonsense?
For someone whos only supported us since we signed Dempsey you sure act as if you are an expert.
