"When you have the best keeper, defensive record and leading goal scorer, you'd expect to win the league" is officiallt the new "when you spend £100m you'd expect to win the league."

Fuck you Leicester.

Leicester in the last 10 games of last season had the 2nd best points return behind the winners Chelsea

So it's a grave injustice that as we have had a good season (so far), another team has had the temerity to do even better?

Boo fucking hoo. What it shows is there is still room for improvement. Hope the team keeps learning and keeps moving forward. Next season the slate is wiped clean again for all teams.

The Simpson incident is never a penalty though, his arm is completely against the side of his body and the ball would've hit his side if his arm wasn't also there. Never a penalty or a red.

The Huth one though ... that's a pen.

Neither were penalties. Huth was standing 2 yards away and kept his hands down.

I don't think you can overlook the fact that we spent 33 million pounds on Njie and Son and they have contributed a combined 2 goals and 1 assist in the league. For the only true attacking signings Pochettino has made so far, they've had disastrous first seasons. I mean, we have had COUNTLESS games where we have been the superior side, but drawn or lost due to an inability to finish or create in the final third. If we had simply made better signings than these two, or these two contributed just 5 goals between them, we'd probably have won the title.

Dreadful from Poch really.

And how dare a couple of foreign signings don't rip the league up in their first season, and come to think of it its not quite good enough that we're sitting second with 6 games to go either.

The first bit is actually true though.

Indeed. Arsenal could say the same thing really about "bad luck" after all the usual suspects have under performed.

Sorry, but it's nothing to do with poor Spurs luck. Another team has been better at winning games than us.

And there are things we could have done to increase our chances of winning games. Such as had another CF in the squad. Or rotating the squad more in the EL earlier in the season. Or making more of our possession in the final third instead of poor decisions or poor execution.

We've been very good. Just not quite good enough.
For me it's a bit silly to start logically going down the list of things we could do a bit differently when the team above us is the physical embodiment of every cringe-inducing inspirational sports cliche ever conceived. Christ, if I was a writer pitching this movie to a studio, they probably would have told me to tone it down a notch when I got to the bit about the 5'9 Japanese guy winning a crucial match with an overhead kick.

Leicester deserve all the romance and credit they are getting, but for the first time in my life watching this sport I have decided that it is indeed possible for a league champion to also be a fluke. Go find me the last team to win one of the top five leagues with 44% possession and the worst pass completion percentage in the division. I don't even need to talk about the absurdity when we look at financial correlation with success. It's probably the biggest outlier that any of us will ever see in our lifetimes.

I agree that it's not bad luck for us at all. It's just unprecedented good luck for Leicester. This isn't some bitter condescending crap about their style of football...I don't care how they play. But empirically, you do not win the league playing like they do. You just don't. Until now I guess.

Still not impressed that they are selling Premier League Champions 2015-16 memorabillia already in Leicester, but then again who can blame them

We never really put enough pressure on them points wise or even in the media. No mind games from our side. Not saying it would of definitely had an effect but other clubs and managers would of definitely been ramping up the pressure on Leicester more. Sometimes I think we are too nice or nieve as a club.

This is a good point, I am surprised Poch hasn't put more pressure on Leicester by talking them up and saying they are the massive favourites and the league is their's to lose. Fergie would have, that's for sure.

Rubbish. The likes of Toby and Kane have been brilliant. Lamela only gives his all because without that he wouldn't be in the team
That seems quite cynical. Maybe he has genuine passion for the team and wants to give everything so we can do well. You make it seems like he's self-centred and only wants to do it so he is the team. Clearly doesn't have that attitude.

Thats the thing all the Big boys will be back in town next year spending big dollars, this was our chance but its not to be.
What makes you think them spending big money will rule our chances of winning the league?

We have one of the top 3 young strikers in the world, a fantastic defence, a world class goalkeeper, two of the best young midfielders in the world and an amazing manager.

You're mixing up two pretty clear things.

You say we've wanted a title challenging side - we got that. That's in the bag.

What we didn't get was the title and I dare anyone to find a Spurs fan who was asking for that at the beginning of the season. Moving the goalposts mid season doesn't make this "Spursy" as some would call it. In fact you'd easily say several other teams have been far more "Spursy" than we have. Especially Liverpool and Arsenal.

It's funny that fans can look so negatively at 2nd place when we've been so mired in 5th. Simply because a team we didn't expect to be 1st is.

Game over man. Game over. Still, if we can hold onto 2nd, can't complain with that in itself. I'd have taken it in a femtosecond before the first kick of the ball. Sodding context always has to ruin these moments though doesn't it? A potential 2nd place up for grabs and CL football with it and there's this slight melancholy. Bollox. Cheer on the lads for the final few games. Done us proud so far.

I stated just so he seems the most hungry and passionate in his game.. and from the report he claimed to Rose they could be champion.. haha..

and definitely not saying the rest are shit in anyway.. although I'm not sure if you mean the other starters do not need to give their all to be in the starting XI..

I have waited a long time to be able to dream l

Pity it's over so soon
They have to win four games in a row and so do we...
We saw that our Spurs can put in an unbeaten run (and so can they)
But I still believe...I might be a fool but I have chosen to be optimistic specially when the fat lady hasn't sung yet!
I am not going to fuss on whether it was a penalty or not nor am I going to speak about games that we should have won.
We are 2nd! Most expected us to finish 5th. At this rate, we will finish top 4 or even top 3.
We should start by consolidating 2nd and just hope in the next 4 games we win all and somewhere they mess up a game or two.
Once again I reiterate #IStillBelieve
