We got the game changing stadium. No worries.
Well that’s Levy’s priority it seems, the team is just a freebie that comes with it. Won’t be long till we rent it out to anyone that can afford it so it can pay the bills.
The team regressing alway finds it way back to him, only himself to blame.

I know a lot of fans didn't want the conference league but it does now throw up some new problems.

If you've been frustrated in the past with our "sell before we buy" narrative it's now just increased tenfold.

Before we even think about incomings or promoting youth we will have a first team squad of 34 players when they all return from loan.

There is so much to do and without a head coach and DOF this currently looks like an impossible task without having a fire sale.
Trix...if it forces Levy to evaluate his role within the managerial merry-go-round this past year (and previous), I'm all for it.

Maybe we'll establish a squad that want to play for the shirt and not the wages.

Refreshing to see youth introduced out there today and with new faces next year and a progressive approach from the I side out.....is it a bad thing compared to what other clubs have experienced with no Europe the past few seasons?

Sell the deadwood and build from within...I think majority of fans want our identity over European away days......sure that's why DL built the stadium..?!?

I genuinely think most of us do not expect a proper rebuild anyway and certainly nothing more than a token show of spending by the board.
Sell whoever we can (except Kane) promote some youth players and let's hope Kane can keep us top 8 again in his last season.

That's about as much as we can hope for, regardless of European football. Next season will be our last one for a good while where we might make Europe again, after that Kane will be gone and we'll really see how bad things can get.

We will be getting an earlier start on the Carabao Cup trail if I am thinking right.
Euro qualifiers get a bye.

These are just the simple facts mate. No spin or agenda.

I'm not trying to be negative after a good win, I'm just trying to be realistic and look forward to what we are facing.

But that was always the case European football or not. If anything it forces us to sell more players because we won’t need them for the extra 20 games or whatever it is to win the conference league. That’s if we can find buyers anyway.

The only real negative is losing out on the coefficient points at a time when our 18/19 season points drop out from counting. The prize money for the conference is utter shite anyway.

We must take advantage of not being in it though. Good runs in both domestic cups are a must.

I wonder if this shit show will finally make Levy realise that giving players 5 years beyond their best new contracts and always buying the much cheaper second and third choice options, leads to no champions league football money and no farmers conference football either.

This will see the penny drop with Levy.

Just kidding - no European football means we now drop down to our 4th and 5th choice

Does it really matter either way? We had champions league last summer and still didn’t buy what we needed to move on. This board will never go the full wack and set us up to challenge. Europe or no Europe, they will always just spend the minimum required. At least we won’t stink out the champions league like we did against ac Milan and line enics pockets.

sick of what we’ve become under levy. We’re just an entertainment venue right now. But not for football.

From the accounts up to June 22 , so this will be the sort of income we lose , even being forced out of the Conference League early was worth £10 million . Need to try harder in League & FA cup to make up for some of the lost income.
Still we are not alone ,Chelsea have the same problems with a bloated squad and no Europe but they do have a manager , better get it sorted quickly Daniel

UEFA prize money was £10.2m (2021: £23.6m) reflecting the difference between a COVID-enforced group stage exit from the Europa Conference League as opposed to competing in the Europa League in the prior year.

At least our chairman is happy to sell below value if needed for the good of the team

Right?

It’s awful that we’re in this position and it really feels unbelievable. I was at the game at home vs forest and we finished that six points clear of Liverpool, safely in 4th. The week after that was the Southampton debacle which actually doesn’t seem that bad now.

Just read that the last time we had no European football was 2009-10. Would be lovely to draw some parallels as we went on to have a decent season then after the chaos of Juande. We didn’t bring many in that summer beyond Crouch and Kranjcar as I recall.

Sadly the parallel falls down as we might as well have Juande Ramos back in charge given the chaos. There’s going to be very little space for manoeuvre the squad and the players we want to move on aren’t going to be in demand. Meanwhile we are going to find we’re suddenly not the draw we were. Probably just one or two in, and a few out. This feels a bit year zero for the rebuild with the real one coming at the end of next year.

Good, we need to root out the deadwood once and for all. No European football forces a total reset. I’m not upset at this prospect
I’d like to agree but meeting the challenge will require a level of competence that we’ve not seen at the club in many years.

This summer is a big test of the new Munn/DOF setup. We’re able to have the long-needed major clear-out without also needing a big number of incomings. A well-run club would be able to manage it.

Shifting the deadwood will require a willingness to accept the prices that the market commands, something that Levy has been totally inflexible about for a long time. It’ll immediately show us whether Levy is continuing to run the show or whether Munn and the DOF have actually been empowered to control the squad.

I’m pessimistic but it’s a big opportunity for a reset if we get it right.

This for me can only be seen as a good thing.

If Levy somehow gets the manager decision right (don't hold your breath) then that manager will have more time to get across his methods on the training pitch.

Yes it's shit not being in Europe, but I think we've needed this for a few years now.
All that Europe has ever done for us is give the club extra cash, which plays right into Levys hands. Yes, you could argue that it brings in better players and convinces Kane to stay. But, I think this will be good for the club in the long term. Kane will no doubt leave no matter what the outcome, he'll be off on a free in a years time.

I'd much rather we get our shit together once and for all.

Over to you Mr Levy, get your shit together and sort this shitshow out that you caused!!!

Not buying this narrative, sure it’s a financial hit from the meager broadcast revenue it pays (relative to Champs League) and the match day revenue but last time we didn’t make it out of the group stage anyways.

The squad needed gutting irregardless of European football. If this forces Levy to trim it further, then even better. The majority of this group is simply not good enough.

We also have a squad of players that believe they’re above this competition and do not have the desire to win it (as seen last season).

Fire sale badly needed. Less competitions to play in should reduce the burden on the players that are part of the project going forward.
