Such a poor performance from England. When the fuck is Farrell going to learn to get his tackle height down? Time and time again. Glad he got a red this time - perhaps it'll make him think about it.

TBH, I'm still worried we won't get out of the group!
Scotland were really impressive last night I thought, but I’m not yet convinced they can perform to a consistently high-level yet. I’m still hopeful for Ireland to have a good tournament.

So the all-Australian panel have rescinded Farrell's red card... I wonder if they felt he was more of a liability than an asset for the World Cup and making him available for selection is the true punishment.

Yep it's a complete joke.

As it says in the article, at now stage was Farrell going below face-height.

But let's hope each team at the World Cup has a good lawyer so that we can litigate these protections of players' health out of the way.
I'm really not a Farrell fan, he has a history of bad tackling and has even had to attend an RFU course on tackling! The fact they've managed to worm him out of the red card means trouble for the game and further poor tackles leading to more head injuries, and also Farrell will continue to tackle badly!

Mind you, I'm also not a fan of Borthwick or his squad selection/tactics!!

I remember a club game way back when I was still playing and the opposition winger, who was plenty old enough to know better, put in a no arms shoulder hit on our young winger and knocked him out of the game. The referee did nothing as ever and once play resumed following a mass brawl in the forwards, I moved from centre out to the wing. A few possessions later and I was running straight down this guys channel, he tried to do the same non-tackle to me - so I dropped my shoulder and knocked him flat on his back.

Unfortunately, we were up against the touchline and as I didn't want to step into touch I had no choice but to continue running right over the top of him. If only I'd thought to step inside instead, oh well - just didn't occur to me at the time.

Hard hits are part of the game (and fun), I'd hate rugby to lose that - it would ruin it in my opinion - but twattishness with intent to injure deserves to be properly punished.

I know spurs were on at the same time and I didn’t watch the right either but things are looking a bit bleak for the WC for the English.. will catch extended highlights tonight, but the score tells a story..

I just saw that. What the fuck do they expect these days. Drop the shoulder into the head of the runner and about 50 fucking camera angles are going to guarantee you a red. Maybe he decided he wants to be suspended so he doesn’t actually have to go with this drab
