So i take it no one heard the so called "riot" chants then

I agree, while the chants are not "nice", when have they ever been. Cant help but think some people are being a tad sanctimonious. In football you have all sorts of fans from all sorts of backgrounds and levels of tolerance when it comes to abuse. In my opinion it's just spiteful banter aimed at putting someone off their game. It's how you take it and some people get "uppity" about anything these days.
Saying that I'm actually having a "Sol Campbell is dead party" with free drink for everyone who turns up in footbal kit, when the scumbag finally croaks that is.
As I said, it takes all sorts.
If it's sanctimonious to say it's wrong when people wish other people are dead because of football then sign me up to being sanctimonious.
Yes passions run high in football and everyone chants things that they wouldn't in normal walks of life. But to actually chant that you want someone to die because they play for a team you don't like is not just nasty...it's downright stupid.
Sadly I think that's exactly the problem.
I totally agree with your point about wishing someone dead, but thats really down to the ****wits who chant the like. What can really be done to cure this? Unfortunately nothing. Also bear in mind the inherent Northern bias of the media. The Mancs and scousers have been ripping it up for years, (eg "how many lived" etc from the scousers) virtually without a mention in the press. One Spurs v. Arse game gets a bit OTT in the chant stakes and they're down on it like a ton of bricks. If the media hadn't raised it wouldn't be the issue it's become. If it's sanctimonious to say it's wrong when people wish other people are dead because of football then sign me up to being sanctimonious.

Anyone else seen the statement from the club that they will ban all offenders. Isn't this the scum's responsibility?
Take it she's shaved thenYesterday will stick in my mind for a long time. The wife and I were walking along the High Road when a group of Arsenal fans started chanting that my wife had a fat arse and hair on her lip. I was absolutely livid.

Yeah - they ended it by stating "don't let a small minority of fans ruin your day".
I can assure them that the number of people singing "sit down you paedophile" was not a small minority.
Banning them would however solve the stadium issue.

You'd rather be a paedo than a corpse?
