Realistically, it has to be Spurs if he really is talking to anyone.

It's not gonna be Chelsea, they have enough AMF's to start an army. Goons aren't in for anyone at the mo according to Whinger and even if they are it's not an AMF's. Not gonna be Fulham or Spammers so only leaves us and we have been linked previously along with Liverpool.

I know nothing about him though. Is he a Modric/Moutinho type? We don't need another Gylfi.
Would be a wide man I'm thinking. Not exactly prolific but young. Could be turned into a GFTS machine I guess.

He plays a lot more centrally I believe - certainly looks to take space more centrally than a traditional winger but then it could be how Bologna utilised him, maybe akin to Bale.

Don't think him or Willian are what we need currently and most definitely not at the prices quoted.

Indeed. I was more thinking about how AVB likes to set up and, as you mention, we already have central options. But stick him out wide, let him cut inside, the FB overlapping etc.

Unless Rafa is offski, I woudn't think we have an interest in signing him to play centrally. If we're interested. Anyways, they must be loving us even more up on Merseyside right now.

If we end up gazumping them for Allen as well then you can only imagine poor Brendan's mental state! ;)

Ramirez looks class and should do very well in the Prem. He's got a clever football brain, a good shot and head, a clever touch. He looks strong enough to cope and his speed is quite deceptive. Could easily be cover/competition for Lennon, Bale, VDV and Sig. Gets a 'yes' vote from me.

Lets be honest we cant afford anyone who is good enough to replace modric.

There isnt exactly many players in the world who are on his level.

Got to admit never seen Sahin (despite watching almost all RM games last season)

But i don't suppose you get voted best player in the Bundesliga without having some level of ability.

For me the ideal replacement is Moutinho but (going on what others have said) i would not be disappointed if Sahin was bought in as replacement.

Usually agree but it really isn't rubbish that Sahin could step in for Modric. We're never going to find someone who does exactly what Modric does but Sahin is a wonderful passer of the ball, is more of a goal threat and certainly better defensively. Is he going to be able to find the gaps and ghost past a man like Modric? No. But would he offer us a great solution to replace Modric, giving us a different dimension that even Modric couldn't. I'd say so. He was only 21 when he absolutely owned the Bundesliga, some of his performances were absolutely top drawer.

Sahin would be an incredible replacement for Modric. Not only is he one of the highly regarded young central midfielders in the world, he also would be great value since Real didn't pay a ton for him.

I like Moutinho a lot, but I'd much rather pay 10-15 million pounds for Sahin than 20-25 million pounds for Moutinho. Sahin is probably a better player to be honest. He was IMMENSE for Dortmund.

The thing is Modric was so important to the way we played that just assuming someone who has a good technique will fill the gap is not necessarily the case, that's why i lean towards Moutinho, and would gladly put up 60-65% of any Modric fee for him.
Also getting Moutinho now would mean we are getting him in his best years.
