Funny how with two tweets we go from "well we never should have signed in the first place Peanut" to "shame he didn't get a chance here he's a great guy and I wish him all the best"

For what it's worth I think he is an excellent player (watch him for Everton, you'll see) and the defensive work and versatility he offers is very rare. Also, in my opinion, the under-utilization of Pienaar and other squad players was a giant factor in us missing top 4.

I think Pienaar is where he belongs, though. Best of luck to him at Everton.

There have been many who have spoken out about Pienaar and hoping he would get a chance this season, so not sure who you're aiming that little dig at...

no one in particular.

And in all honesty I doubt that tweet changed anyone's mind about him. Just making an observation.

Fair enough - but I know of plenty of people who have shared my opinion for quite some time on Pienaar.
I really didn't know of your opinion on Pienaar, nor was it in my mind, while I wrote that post. I'm really not interested in personal attacks either so don't read anything into my post, seriously. I can guarantee it was not directed at any single post or poster. In fact I don't even really look at the usernames unless they have an iconic avatar or signature, or I give a rating to the post ;)

We bought a clearly talented individual and for one reason or another it didn't work out as well as he or indeed us would have envisaged.

Nothing more to say on the issue really.

I share that view. Pienaar wasn't a bad buy, very sensible in fact. He's proven, versatile and on the cheap. He was badly used though, no doubt about that. Good footballers should be given the chance to play, and add to that the fact that he seems like a genuinely nice bloke just adds insult to injury.

I wish him all the best at Everton, which is where he truly belongs. The bloke is Everton through and through and the fans love him.

I'll not fancy seeing him against Spurs though...

I know you didn't, its just I thought you were jumping on a few people (not anyone in particular) and was making the point that's all.

I also know it wasn't a personal attack! Just responded to what you said, no harm - all good.

You can explain away quite a few of Harry's more eccentric decisions, but loaning Pienaar back to Everton leaves me totally baffled. Obviously, there must have been justifiable concerns over the injuries, but in the end, WTF?

Good luck anyway, Steve. You're clearly a scholar and a gentleman.

Not sure of this is a rehash of yesterday but it's popped up again just now

French Media claiming #THFC have agreed terms with Aly Cissokho (LB), but that the 10m euro (£7.9m) has yet to be agreed with Lyon.

T'was a strange one but then I highly doubt he would have featured heavily and at least he was able to help us inadvertently by propelling Everton to beat or take points off our rivals which I'm pretty sure would have topped what Harry had planned for him here.

One more thing though (and then I promise not to mention it again for the sake of everyone's sanity), I read somewhere that Billy Beane's a football fan, and not just that - a Spurs one!
Can anyone confirm or deny this, one of our American brethren perhaps?

Not American myself, but wiki says he's both closet and scum
He has most recently claimed that Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger, is a personal idol. His friendship with Damien Comolli and Arsenal owner, Stan Kroenke, allowed him to delve deep into the world of English football. He has also claimed to be a "closeted Arsenal fan". [29]

I can remember Harry in an interview in January saying that he had been trying to avoid Peanut all day as he had been pestering him for a move. Levy could see a way of cutting the wage bill, everyone happy...and he scored against Chelsea next match.

No updates on l'Equipe, and if Levy's persuaded Aulas to drop the asking price for Lloris by 50% I shall step back in amazement.
