Dinzeyi where did that come from,do not think he has played much this season.
The memory bank, who I’ve seen spoken about reading this thread basically, I don’t really know much it’s just the centre back name which sprung to mind.

Tanganga is the standout at CB. Not that playing such a team is in any way going to happen, and nor should it. A token playing of a full youth team would be a very bad idea. The FA Cup is the only competition we can realistically win. But even ignoring that, what do these kids gain from playing with the same players they play with every week? I’d far rather play 3 or 4 standouts alongside some first team regulars.

V Wimbledon it should only be little playing fringe players and youths who appear, no regulars. I wouldn’t have any of the regular defenders, full backs included, nor any of Dembele, Sissoko, Dier, Winks. Maybe Wanyama as he needs fitness, plus a player like him would offer some protection and assurance to the kids. I’d hope to see something like:

Gazzaniga
WPeters Eyoma Dinzeyi Hinds
Wanyama OBoothe
Edwards Skipp Nkoudou
Llorente
I think that is way too weak for a match that is really important as imo only CL and FA cup should be our priority

However a mixture of squad players and fringe would be good

Llorente
Nkoudou ---- Lamela ---- Edwards
Wanyama ---- TOB
Davies -- Sanchez -- Foyth -- KWP
Vorm
If this is too weak for poch then there are problems imo

josh wasn't good tonight, bar the goal, but then it'd be a challenge for any player to look decent in that team. all villa do is sit off and hoof it forward for players to chase, josh needs to try and get himself into games more but it's not easy when the ball is ping-ponging over you.

here's pritchard looking quality for norwich today, he's just back from injury but hopefully he can stay fit this time. still think he has way too much ability not to make it as a decent pl player at least -

I was wondering who the 23 for Norwich was as he looked a talent and a bit like lamela. Its that Maddison who they bought from Coventry and we were linked with getting. He looked useful.

We may have been linked to Maddison at some point, I don't remember, but its not the Coventry lad we were linked to last window, that was Tom Bayliss.

Did you see James Maddison 23 for Norwich put the ball through to Pritch for the first goal. Pleaty wanted to sign him 18 months ago from Cov. He went to Norwich only 2 or 3 mill. Been on loan at Aberdeen. He does look a class player.

Not heard much about Pleaty recently but he speaks a lot of sense and can spot a good young footballer.

18 mos ago. There was a lot of stuff in the papers linking us to him. Not sure if he’s been in England under 21 squad but can’t be far away as we hardly have any proper midfield players

to be fair, the u23s played an almost full-strength wimbledon a couple of months ago and only lost 4-3 so you'd hope that a side with gazzaniga/kwp/wanyama/nkoudou/llorente would be able to beat them. that said, no i definitely wouldn't go for a line-up like that. i'd just like to see kwp and edwards start with say tanganga, skipp and sterling on the bench .. don't think that's a massive ask but i still don't expect to see that many involved, i suspect it'll be much the same as the apoel dead rubber.

Just seen the news that VVD is off to Liverpool for 75 million. It is very clear that we can't compete with teams that can spend those amounts and makes it even more imperative that Poch begins offering more youth chances in the first team. We're not going to outbid for the finished product but we can beat a lot of teams to the highly talented players if we show that we'll give you chances and develop you to your full potential.

Remember Wycombe. I think it will be our usual league cup type line up with poss a couple of boys on the bench. Definitely KWP to start.

Coutinho must be off shortly as they have already committed 49m for Naby Keith in the summer.

Just had a long time out with yet another ankle injury which was probably why we let him go in the first place.

Agree. This he hasn't done anything narrative is bs. Not only has he been injured but even if he hadn't and was struggling it proves nothing. Someone who regularly scored 20 goals a season in La Liga couldn't score a goal here, does that mean he was never good enough for top league football. Paulinho was garbage for us but is doing well for Barca so what does that mean. Top players can struggle to perform for different clubs for a variety of reasons.

At 19/20 Pritchard was the best player in League One and then the best player in the Championship, he was also England u21s best player at Euros before his injury. and whenever he has been fit for Norwich he's been their most talented player. It seems we have made the right decision due to his injuries, but if he stays fit I expect a PL club to attempt to sign him at some point. I also wouldn't be surprised to see him eventually get called up for England if he stays fit.
