Norwich v Villa today, would love to see Josh and Marcus get starts but won't be holding my breath.

suspect both will be on the bench. tbh i gave up caring about onomah's loan a long time ago, i don't have much interest in seeing him out on the wing or off the striker. as for marcus, daniel farke keeps going on about it being a risk but what is the risk exactly? that they might lose 4-1? josh murphy for example plays practically every game and his championship record this season reads 35 games, five goals and one assist so i don't see where the risk is in giving marcus a few games over him. i think he and maddison as dual 10s would be pretty fun to watch.

a win would put us four points clear of the drop with two games to play.

u18s is 1-1 at ht, a.shashoua equalised for us.

What a shit loan, onomah's too actually

Why?

For me they are both excellent loans, Josh is learning what it's like to have a proper season away from youth football in the grown up world and the actual pressures you get from thousands of fans, i think this will be really character building for him.

Plus for Edwards, who may or may not have an attitude problem, the fact their manager has been tough on will maybe make him a little more humble and he may possibly come back to spurs with a big point to prove.

I actually see these as both positives.

agree that there may well be some off-the-field positives to their loans but it's still a little depressing to see arguably the two most talented players to come through our academy in recent years not playing. it's probably more of a problem for onomah as i don't see what his time at villa will have done to change poch's mind on where he should be played, really he needed to go out and play cm for a year to prove that he can play there but instead he's coming back with none of those questions even close to being answered. with marcus it's frustrating from a fan pov as i just love watching him play but i think his time with norwich will ultimately prove to be beneficial.

I get what you're saying.

But for me, it isn't their performances on these loans that will change Poch's mind, it's their application and hopefully improved maturity that they will bring back for training over summer.

If Josh and Edwards want to truly make it at Spurs, then it's all about application, is Winks anymore naturally gifted than either of them, probably not, but he has more desire. This summer is more crucial for Josh, but Poch is all about attitude, if they don't get that, then regardless of ability they will never make it at Spurs.

did poch really have issues with onomah's application and maturity though? he had him with the first team squad for a long time and made 30 odd appearances, i don't think he'd have been afforded that time if poch had those issues with him - as shown by how quickly he's moved other players on who were perceived to lack the right application/mentality. i think poch just didn't rate the defensive side(reading of the game, concentration, positioning etc) of onomah's game enough to play him at cm and that's it but he does rate his ability and athleticism so tried to use him elsewhere.
