Arsing about at right back. Sort of to be expected with that very defensively inexperienced line up. Not many defenders in that eleven.

saw someone on twitter say everton are streaming it on their site for season-ticket holders so maybe there will be one kicking around, but can't see anything at the moment.
1-0 Everton at ht. Niasse and Lookman playing for them. Live blog on Everton site

Debut maybe? Even then that's tenuous at best and a forced reasoning to see what you want.

You're basically wanting to see the youth play, which we all do, but just making up a reason for why after the fact. At least that's what it appears in this situation.

I'm really not. The point is, surely, that these players aren't going to be handed starts in league games at home with the squad we have and the attitude of coaches about risk etc. The next best thing is what ? Start a game in the Europa League or League cup early round, out of position maybe, with a mish mash team ? Then what's next best ? It's got to be getting 20-30 minutes as a sub, in a proper team, in a game that matters isn't it ? The latter is arguably demonstrating more trust in the player than the former. Even if not it's still about the second best experience the player will get and the second best way for a coach to assess if he's going to swim or sink?

I don't know how many times I have to repeat this, but I'm basically just wanting the best for Spurs. Whether that's a talented signing or a talented academy player. I spend far more time in threads talking about signings and players I'd like (and wouldn't) but no-one ever accuses me of "basically just wanting us to sign players and making up reasons why after we have".

A good player is a good player no matter where they come from, it just so happens that I think we have a couple on our doorstep, but the thing any player, bought or developed needs is time, and getting 30 minutes in a game we are 4-0 up in is much, much more useful to him and the coaching staff, than 5 minutes at the end of tight game or no minutes at all.

The vast majority of our academy players I have no belief will be good enough for a regular place in our first team, and say so. There's only been a really tiny percentage of our academy over the last 4/5 years that I would have liked seeing get better chances/minutes/games than they have.

A poster on FTL on Edwards...

Heard at the weekend that whilst the club rate him highly, we will be flogging him as soon as we can.

He has an extremely poor attitude, turns up late, doesn't really put it in in training, likes a night out and all that goes with it and is basically is a Charlie big bollox. His Dad is a prick apparently and is as greedy as f**k.

We know he has immense talent but think he is not worth all the hassle and baggage that he brings.

I know a lot of this has been mooted before but this has come from the top table.

Take it or leave it.....

There is certain things one won't put on social media. But what is being claimed here is extremely unlikely. Whilst I have not heard, as there is no need to inquire. He had his issues, like many youngsters do. He got his new contract, and he knows what he has to do. I will leave it there.

Some of the things that is quoted I find quite bizzare. The stuff about his dad I cannot accept at all. Breezer will soon give you a more accurate response.

We shall see. As far as I was aware his "bad boy" phase was very short lived and no such problem exists now beyond completely understandable impatience and single minded self-belief.

For what it's worth, I don't believe it. I reckon it stems from the fact he was left out of the U23s squad, and the general murmurs that have been around. Feels like lazy conjecture to me.

I know you're far more au fait with matters of our youth team, but how would his impatience be completely understandable?

Not having that one bit,I am at a lot of matches that Edwards dad is at home and away and he has never come across that way.

He goes to matches that his son is not playing in and gets on with players and other family members.

In all the time I have been watching Edwards play I have never seen bad attitude from him on the pitch.
