For those who came along after the Hoddle years, the only way I can explain it is in the way that other clubs' supporters don't realise how good Modric is and were surprised Spurs fans overwhlemingly voted him player of the season, when they thought it would be Bale. Unless you watched Hoddle regularly you just wouldn't get it. Better than Waddle, better than Gazza, better than Modric - but for his international difficulties would be recognised as one of the games greats.

:clap::clap: I blame various England managers for his international problems, they did not pick him regularly for my liking. Mind you, England had a few good players in those days, but none is as creative as our Glen Hoddle.

This was the same footballing culture where a commentator found no incongruity in saying of Matt Le Tiss, who was playing in a relegation fodder team, " he has done nothing all game...apart from scoring three goals", as though that was some crime.

Check the Ledley threead, current, where we have an interesting discussion on football culture in this country, and how it has stifled creative players like GHodd.

EDIT: Not the Ledley thread  The Coach in every position thread.

The culture of Brit football was totally different then. FFS, Tossers even called him "Glenda" because all they were interested in was blood and snot, roll up your sleeves, talentless wankers.
The influx of S. Americans etc taught them what football was really about.
As Ossie said, Hoddle would have had 100 caps if he were an Argentinian.

Spurs 50 best ever players.

I uploaded this a couple of years back and it contains some quality clips going all the way back to some proper vintage footage. Also contains interviews with many of the legends featured.

Have only put a link to the first video as I have set up a playlist against it that if clicked on will take you through all 18 parts.

Alternatively, the first part is available on it's own and all other 17 parts can be found in the spoiler.

I'd like to produce more of these myself, but no-one seems to be uploading the matches or highlights after games anymore.

Anyone know of a good place to get that stuff?
