The Swiss appeal doesn't warrant another look.

Does that mean Portugal don't get a penalty?

The refs given the first one to Switzerland! Very soft.

That totally rules out the stonewall penalty to Portugal!.

If the Swiss go through, they’d likely lose to tomorrow’s winners in the final.

Worst decision I’ve ever seen, been a fan of var but you can’t account for incompetence

Never a pen. Swiss player kicks his own leg? I'd be so pissed off if that was given against Spurs/England

I’d rather Portugal lose but that var assisted decision was every bit as bad as the Pedro Mendes decision against us

Does anyone know if this goes to extra time, or straight to penalties? I assume it's extra time?

He kicked his leg because the Portugal player clipped his foot.

Now you can argue it wasn't a clear and obvious error, but the defender clipped him.

I haven’t seen that but I’ll take your word for it

Clipped makes it sound like he was trying to tackle him or something. He wasnt even looking at the player, he had his eyes watching the flight of the ball. Is that all an attacker has to do now, just have some contact with a defender?

I agree. If anything the Swiss player kicked the Portuguese defender. Football will be a non contact sport pretty soon.
