used to think that but Ronaldo always turns up for the national team and has a major trophy with less support than Messi. That changed my mind.

Argentina are in a worse state than Portugal besides I'm not sure judging their international exploits is the best way to judge, I mean Portugal won their trophy without Ronaldo for example.

they won the final without him, tho he played 25 minutes. Had 3 goals in the tournament. I agree that Argentina as a team consistently punches below their weight because of a horrible national team organization.

I might watch the final tonight hoping to see Ronnie runnings rings round VVD.

Sad old bastard here. Life is one miserable day at a time ..

i'm still gutted we lost. Moving on though i'd like to see the dutch win it, not just because the thought of ronaldo holding that trophy sickens me, but because they deserve some reward for good football.
As for the england game. They need to use it as cohesiveness practice, decision making, one touch, and pass it faster. Play a full strength team, and at least come away with something to take into the qualifiers.

I mainly just want to see a good performance from our boys. Alli and Dier are both badly out of form and run the risk of losing their place on the side (could already be too late for Dier) and people are starting to turn on Kane after a high profile bad performance in the CL final and a similarly poor one against Netherlands.

I would much rather they go on holiday with their heads held high.

I never object to spurs being the backbone of our england team. just hope they get one of those medals dumped in the changing room after.

Why are our players getting flogged in a totally meaningless game after the season they have had? Fucking typical.

Not sure Dier & Delph should be playing since they struggle to get a game for their respective clubs. Why not play the team that would have played the final?

Between watching England play, and listening to the ESPN commentators, I want to simultaneously scratch my eyes out, and rip off my ears.

I switched to Sky sports after hearing Dele being called Lingard for the 4th time.

lol - first time I heard them do it I was thinking "ok, they are in a studio somewhere watching the match on a screen - maybe they just did not see it clearly." Then, there was a replay - with close-ups - and they were still calling Dele "Lingard".
