But it's all for show.
If you watch the Notorious documentary he actually comes across as a decent(ish) bloke.
When it comes to the build up to a fight, he becomes a character because that's what's required in order to sell the fight.
I used to like him but his act is old now. For the good of UFC and all combat sports, Khabib has to batter him on saturday. Time to put a stop to all the hype and this parading of fake belts, I'm tired of Dana kissing his arse.

Totally agree. He only defends the belts or fights when he wants to - everything is on his terms.
Really hope he gets the beating he deserves.

I don't really mind how McGregor is, he actually makes me laugh. What I don't like is when there's intense animosity and disrespect in a build up and they then touch gloves before the fight.

Most importantly though, you don't really get a boring McGregor fight, and I respect that he does often entertain inside the octagon if not (to some) outside of it.

See i disagree its all about the hype and most fans who buy the PPV’s do it because of the build up and hype. Dont get me wrong the true fans of the sport will watch and buy it anyway but to get the big numbers you need to attract the casual fan. It also happens in boxing just look at the last Fury press conference.
Dana kisses his ass because he knows how much money he pulls in and puts on a show.
I honestly think he will beat Khabib.

Khabib will make the same mistake that aldo and alvarez made and will not respect conors power , timing and accuracy and will pay. Nate diaz has an iron chin but conor still put him down 3 times in the 2nd fight, khabibs chin has never been tested.

Khabib needs to just keep shooting for a take down every second.

The ppv buys for this will break ufc records easily.

So what happened in the first Diaz fight?

The most intriguing thing for me, and the one thing which makes this fight particularly special, is that neither fighter has ever fought anyone like the other. That's what makes this fight so damned hard to call. Khabib's record is beyond ridiculous, but as we all know in the UFC, nobody is unbeatable. That's what makes it so fascinating. If it goes to the ground, Khabib has to be favourite but knowing how unpredictable things are in the UFC, Conor might just as easily submit Khabib, or Khabib might just land a lucky one and knock McGregor spark out. It's the toss of a coin but I'm saying McGregor because it would be just like the so and so to come back after two years out, and win.

The trouble is it's done at everybodies else's expense. He held up both divisions for nearly 2 years, he was stripped. Now he's parading around with fake belts and Dana is encouraging it. You've got DC who has just won two belts, just because he can't fight right now he's going to be stripped, no chance to recover or anything. While a cheating snitch bastard, comes back and straight away gets a title shot. If he promotes one star, what happens when that star leaves or gets beaten again and again? His stock will plummet. They should look at making and promoting other stars.

There is only one way Conor can win, by knockout, Khabib hardly gets hit his fight people just hanging on the fact that he once got tagged by Micheal Johnson and his last fight with Al Iquinta where people said he didn't look good, yes he out struck him easily. Khabib can win by submission, decision or TKO. Khabib hardly ever wins by TKO but I think Conor is not going to like eating those punches and elbows, he couldn't take it against Diaz and he gave him his back and got choked out easily.

He loses this fight he will retire soon, I can only see him fighting Diaz, if he fights Ferguson he will lose easily. If he fights Woodley, he will be given such a severe beating he will never fight again.

I’m sure he’s a decent fella, I’ve heard he’s sound, but playing a character etc, for some that in itself is a turn off.
Someone like Mike Tyson never had to sell out with a fake persona to try and shift a few tickets. That’s real star appeal. It’s modern culture to be fair, Almost everyone in the spotlight is a fucking fraud thesedays. Mayweather ‘s act for example is tedious.

Something I see yesterday, apparently the flat fee’s for each are $2m and $3m. UFC seriously own these fighters don’t they? Disgusting imo.

Diaz got long reach, decent boxing and great jiu jitsu.

Conor always tests the chins of all his opponents early, I just hope khabibs is good enough to get him through the first round.

Not so sure on the ferguson he will lose easily. I would favour conor in that fight.

Didn't he sign a 6 fight contract or something? Or was that not official? I don't think he'd lose easily to Ferguson personally, Ferguson has a tendency to fight with his hands down a lot and Conor would punish him for that.

It's very hard to call this fight. Both are superior in their field to the other. Conor is such an accurate and quick striker with dynamic movement. Khabib has very bad forward movement, comes straight ahead to put pressure on his opponent. He gets away with it because he's tough so can take a shot. Can he take a shot from Conor though? If so then he will dominate with the grappling and tire out Conor befor choking him out. Either way it will most likely be a KO from Conor or submission from Khabib.

I liken it to Silva vs Sonnen. Although Silva has BJJ so can fight off his back but his weakness was always against great wrestlers. Sonnen would walk him down, smother him and drag him down in the first fight. The difference with Khabib is he is a more powerful grappler, can really throw people up in the air and has more aggressive ground and pound. In the 2nd fight Silva picked Sonnen apart on the outside, even though Sonnen got some shots off himself the superior striking of Silva shut him down.

I fancy Conor for this one, I just don't think Khabib can get in range without getting hit and Conor moves so much better in terms of MMA movement. It's classic grappler vs striker. I hope Conor wins on that alone. I much prefer watching a great stand up striker. In fact I much prefer his press conferences to Khabib as well. He's just an all round much more entertaining fighter, love him or hate him.

yes he did sign. Ferguson as a iron chin like Diaz, there is no way Conor will out cardio Ferguson. Conor is a good striker but if there is no knock out he's fooked.
