A work colleague flew from Madrid to London this afternoon. He is a casual football fan but knows I am a massive spurs fan. He texted me that Ancelotti was on his flight to London.

No idea if he is here on transfer business or not, but there you go.

Why are people suggesting Dembele in the advanced position of the midfield 3? He doesn't score or create enough to be our starting "number 10"

More importantly why in the ****ing hell are they talking about it in the ITK Discussion Thread?

As far as I'm aware, despite spending lots on transfer fees this window, we haven't broken our wage structure

This needs to be taken into account when speculating who the Goat means

Mata, Suarez, et al would surely command too large a wage. So it's probably someone who's valued highly, but is currently on low (ish) wages

As for Benzema, I'm surprised he's been mentioned because that would leave RM short up top. But if the Goat says it's him, I guess we have to seriously consider it

I am struggling to understand why Suarez would want to come to us or why Pool would sell him to us for 45 mil when they where talking about over 50 mil when Arse where interested. We would have more chance of getting Mata, and I don't think we have a chance of the. I would also be quite underwhelmed by Benzema, especially at 45 mil. Would love Draxler, hope he is the other name. The thought of Lamela, Eriksen and Draxler across the middle three is frighteningly good and all have the potential to be, and probably will be, world class in a few years.

I think there's a huge difference to him playing there with Lamela and Eriksen starting, instead of Chadli and Townsend. We wouldn't be as reliant on our creativity to come through the middle.

Still think it's Draxler and when you consider Schalke are chasing Ade and Holtby possibly available for loan, I think it's something that may well be explored.

Aside from this mega signing Leandro would actually be a decent buy. I'd say we could do with a bit of physical presence upfront as a different option. If Benteke isn't available then he's worth a shot I guess as a second striker. Think Adebayor, but more committed.
