It was rumoured that if he trained today we would threaten to pull the plug on the deal. Maybe they are getting round that by giving him a fitness test instead.

Maybe he's having his medical for Spurs

i have been sceptical about tottenhams interest in Soldado but i've been told in the last hour that fee has now been agreed with Valencia for the striker. there is genuine interest in the madrid left back but he has lots of offers and tottenham are reluctant to deal with madrid for obvious reasons. tottenham are definitly after a left back. Luke Shaw was mention by the powers above but AVB has muted the idea. and i would not expect the spending to stop there.

As I said before, this is not the signing that people have to worry about, this is done IMO. It's what happens after that if Ade goes that people have to worry about. Lopez, Gomis, Remy those bods don't cut it, they are not even better than Defoe, let alone Ade.
I don't see how any of them would join us as a backup though apart from Remy if we played him out wide. I'd hope we'd sign a youngster, have we even had ITK on Lopez and Gomis?

Thanks for the info. I am getting quite exited about the Coentrao stuff and it is quite possible with all the clauses etc we could put in

Luke Shaw signed a new contract with Southampton 2 weeks ago.

Some excellent news in this. Soldado move is getting more and more positive each hour. Can understand why AVB perhaps doesn't want Shaw ATM, perhaps recognises the need for an established player rather than a youngster, all be it a very good one, going into a very important season.

Not surprised at all about the lb. Rose will hopefully come thru eventually but he ain't ready to be first choice for a whole season

I hope that BAE stays if we are not going for another LB

I think Rose is good, but not the quality we need starting most PL matches.

Remy makes perfect sense. As you say, he can play as a wide forward but also another option for CF. I'm sure he'd jump at the chance to join us if we were interested.
