The rumours of interest in falcao or damiao are great. I would equally like to see us try to snatch a more realistic option to play with them, pl experience, great work ethic, goals e.g. Dempsey at circa eight million.

No, imo there is a huge gulf in quality in their respective info and one has the tendency to make things up, that's why they say different names.

I was thinking the same thing. Perhaps Lennon could be one of the departures mentioned by JJ that some people will be disappointed with?

Last week on twitter there were rumours of a Sunderland bid for Lennon and avb's willingness for him to go. Hope not.

That's all I'm trying to transpire. There is obvious ambition. Don't all be doom merchants. I know I can't check news with Harry like I have done the last 4 years but I trust JJ and I trust his enthusiasm.

He has told me who we are looking at and all the sensible amongst you will appreciate I can't steal thunder and blurt out names but I can tell you that there is no doubt in anyone's mind, these players are world class.

And to sign them all would cost upwards of £90m in transfer fees alone.

We would need to be brave.

Let's just wait and see.

Remember the days of Ramo's first window when we were linked with Ronaldinho, Eto'o and Villa, back there was no one better and they were linked with us, even though it didnt happen and it turned out to be a bad window we very optimistic then

I think the drought has caused most of us to actually have level heads for the first time

We've signed two quality players in Vertonghen and Sigurdsson but this is the most depressing transfer window in a long time? You have high standards mate, hahah.

Definitely can't see Lennon leaving. We need more pace on the wings not less. We have some promising youngsters to cover Lennon and Bale atm in Townsend and Falque, possibly GDS as well. I still feel like we need more goals from the wings though so a goalscoring wide attacker would make a big difference.

I really hope the news coming from JJ is in regards to a wide attacker and big centre forward. I've got a good feeling about Leandro in this window. I just hope his performances in the Olympics dont trigger the big spenders to come in.

As far as Lloris goes I feel that we'll only sign him if Lyon backtrack and accept our valuation of him. Just how desperate for money are Lyon I wonder?

From what ive read its not just use of them. That said I always like reading their info and when it comes i suddenly have hope that it could be true. Just had a quick look through this years ITK from both of them and neither have had a good start tbh.

I was more depressed when we were linked with players like J Cole when Harry was in charge. At least under AVB we're looking at the right quality of player to take us to the next level. The only downside is it will take longer for these signings to conclude.

Lennon might be the most underrated player in our squad.

It was clear last season how good he worked. We clearly missed him when he was out, why does everyone seem to want to replace him?

I dont see Lennon being one to leave at all - he has started pretty much every game in pre season - I also wouldnt expect Dawson to go as AVB has said he will be the captain and as already pointed out Caulker has just signed a new contract so it wont be him. JJetset said VDV wouldnt leave a few weeks back because AVB liked him so my guess is Huddlestone. If we are to play a high line with a pressing midfield 3 then I guess Hudd wouldnt really suit that so maybe he is the one - shame because I think he is a talented player. That said teams win things not players.

JJ hasn't had a poor start imo. Remember he got fixtures, Sig, AVB, Vertonghen etc all right.

Think we ll have to agree to disagree then! Had a look through the ITK section and both seem as reliable as each other to me.

Re JJ getting AVB right you may want to check your info before posting them as JJ wouldnt commit on who would be our manager, all he said was that Martinez would not get the job.
