Said if Spurs play with one striker it should be Crouch and Pav is an idiot. Pissed me off actually because I thought Graham Hunter was a knowledgable guy.

Clearly hes not

To be fair he is right, Pav's movement is shocking.

His movement is ok, its his first touch which lets him down too often

Exactly. Shite first touch = no chance of the lone striker job. Crouchy, despite being the oddest shaped footballer currently playing has a good first touch. Plus, them furrners, they don't like it up 'em. He does the biz in Europe.

I reckon it'll be announced one way or the other at 2 this afternoon or something.

Why did they change the deadline from 12pm to 6pm anyway?

The only slightly disappointing aspect of all this, if it does come off, is that it's a pity he was signed so late (through no fault of Spurs). I think if he had signed a week or even a couple of days earlier, it would've attracted a top striker too. Fabiano may have even pushed for the move himself or KJH might've liked the idea of joining up with him again. Absolutely over the moon though if it does come off, and maybe a top striker in January may be forthcoming, especially if we do manage to get out of the group stages in the CL.

Probably to allow time to sort these things out before naming the 25 man squads at 5pm today. Even if it was midnight this deal wouldn't have gone through until 11:59pm anyway as it was the deadline that forced the rediculously low transfer fee. £8m for potentially the best CM in the prem!??!?!?

Off the VDV topic but i felt compelled to agree with this post :)

With more game time though, i think Pav's all round game could eventually get up to a similar level to his finishing.

Well here's hoping.

In the mean time, if the FA would sort this deal out so he can start banging in 15 a season, that would be great.

I don't think we were in for KJH. Although the two of them together could have formed a potent partnership.

I don't disagree. I actually like Pav, very good addition to our strikers. We can't all have Barca's firepower after all. Rully rully needs to work on his touch though. He's got some strengths - good in the air, not exactly slow and good movement. That touch lets him down though. means we only see his other qualities sporadically.

Anyways, the meeja, for what that is worth, all seem to think it's a formality at this point, from what i can tell anyway.
