VDV already being a Spurs player makes a lot of sense unless Levy had 'conditions' put in the contract between Spurs and Real.. ie Conditional that VDV is registered ahead of the deadline.

If this is the case at least he's a Spurs player and will play in at least 7 games and will be raring to go by January. I'd rather have this scenario than nothing at all and being ridiculed by rival fans

This is where I'm confused. If the signing has definitely gone through, is the issue whether or not they signed within the period to be eligible to play straight away, or can any club sign someone between now and January, with that player being unable to play until then.

I didn't think any permanent transfers could be made outside of the windows..only provisional agreements.

Wish people would stop telling everyone what SSN are saying. It's been the same all morning.

SSN say that they now understand Spurs missed the deadline to finalise the signing of RVDV

Looks like they have fkd us over.

Piecing the its of info together...

So does that mean we can sign him, not play him but, loan him out somewhere (eg Denmark)?

The premier league are having a meeting at 4pm according to Ben on FTL.

Why do they need a meeting ffs? Surely there's someone or at least a small team who's in charge of this sort of thing. They know the rules, they must now know the facts. Just fucking make a decision!

they would accept it for two reasons ..

1- they agreed it for 2 players in the past, Benjani & Arshavin.
2- This is the future of a player .. he would like to move on but time didn't help ..

I'm positive ..

I would add a 3rd -

Van der Vaart is world class and the PL would like a player of his stature playing in their league
