This is an extract from an article on the official site about our under 18's. They're currently top of the Academy Premier League. Seven games unbeaten and five clean sheets.

"We try to defend together as a team and attack together as a team," explained coach Alex Inglethorpe. "That means the defenders are responsible for starting our attacks and the forwards are the first line of defence when we haven't got the ball."

"We've had a setted back four throughout with Adam Smith, Nathan Byrne, Calum Butcher and Steven Caulker (pictured right) with Oscar Jansson and Jamie Butler the goalkeepers. Takura Mtandari came in for Alex on Saturday but we've had that continuity."

Clearly scoring goals is our main problem at the moment and this stems partly from our lack of creativity but I thought the quotes about attacking and defending as a team and having a settled back four were interesting to note. I'm sure having that stability and understanding at the back would breed confidence throughout the team.

It's such simple stuff but it's obvious and it makes sense. Maybe Ramos should take some coaching tips from Alex Inglethorpe.
