It will be hilarious to see Ryan Mason age 29 trying to motivate the older Alderweireld and Lloris, both former teammates, with 100+ international caps.

to be honest if any of those guys or anyone else in our squad needs motivating on Sunday then they should probably hang up their boots with immediate effect.

He took charge of training today. Nothing in there about the rest of the season. We could just as well have Powell take training tomorrow. We have a game Wednesday & a presser tomorrow with no confirmed manager. Yes its likely it is Mason but it has not been confirmed.

Yes but until we hear further, it’s him.
Even if we hired a new manager this week, he will be in the stands and Ryan the boss.

Happy for Mason and Powell.

They don't need to do much other than let our players play football free of their mourinho shackles.

Obviously we're needing reinforcements in the summer however we can still play good attacking football with what we have, and if we do that we should win a lot more games than we lose.

With Kane set to miss the S’ton game, I wonder if we could potentially see Ryan hand a game to Dane Scarlett....

Similar to Sherwood with Kane, he is a lad from the academy that he’ll know well...maybe he doesn’t trust Vinicius?

Tbh if we went with Bale, Alli and Son behind DS, I could really see him snatching a goal or two?
Could be the lightning rod for his career, would love to see him involved!

I don't know if he will end up being caretaker manager but if he is we need to get behind him. If Jose actually lost the dressing room, which seems to be the case apart from Kane, who will always be committed and loyal, I suspect the players will really get behind him too.

Team selection will be very interesting. It seems top 4 doesn't matter anymore but Mason only has 6 league games. Not sure how I'd feel if he started Son and then he got injured

Traditional European qualification could still matter. It seems that the UK government and governments all over Europe may attempt to forestall the Super League, it's certainly within the realm of possibility that the competition won't move forward next season.

Unless Son, Vinicius, Bale, Lucas, Dele, Bergwijn and Lamela are injured, it's not likely. Giving a debut to a 17 year old under the current circumstances is not ideal. Ryan's job is to steady the ship, not make sweeping changes.

True Story this, I once had a hot and steamy encounter with Ryan Mason. We were both pretty much naked and our wives were there too. We haven't seen each other since and we never spoke about it afterwards. If you want, I'll give further details.

In the 2015 League Cup Final, Mason started in Centre Mid.

Since then, Spurs have gone from Europa League regulars to Champions League finalists, back to a side struggling to reach Europe at all, before deciding to resolve that situation by simply abolishing Europe.

Pochetinno touched glory but never grasped it, only to go to PSG where he may be handed the Champions League - by a UEFA Executive Committee Meeting. Mourinho went from winning the cup for Chelsea to many a false dawn, a Europa League win at United but now perhaps the total downfall of his top-level career.

Mason helped Tottenham into the Champions League, was almost killed by a Chelscum twat, recovered, started a family, and is now back at his boyhood club as the youngest (caretaker) Manager in the history of the Premier League.

And now we're back - notionally playing for a place in a new European competition which may never start or from which we may be banned, while more importantly playing for a trophy which we may never play for again.

Did I mention a mild case of the plague stopping most of us actually being there more than just in spirit?

It really is a funny, funny old game. But through all the chaos, the thing I love most is being a Yid. Best of luck young Ryan, and Come on you Spurs!

This is a cool story in a sea of shit stories. We should be thankful for that. Best of luck to him and hopefully this becomes a launching point in his coaching career.
