I think the sad thing is he will probably look to move on when the new manager comes in as he will see others Carrick etc and think he is ready

Could we just loan him out as a manager for a few years???

Hard to judge him at the min. Personally I think he may of moved to a 3 in midfield to stop us conceding more and shattering the players again 3-1 at the time was respectable from where we were. Shame about the silly mistake for their winner, but tbh this game was always going to be about did we have any fight.

Don't know why people seem to think moving to 3 in CM is a defensive move. What it did was allow Son to get in closer to Kane where he prefers to play, give a bit of a shield in front of Dier and Romero (which is defensive), but also allow Skipp and Hojbjerg to get amongst it a lot more in midfield instead of just chasing around trying to put out fires the whole time. It allowed us to take the game to them. The mistake (again) was starting with a pivot versus a CM3.

That's my point. If you bring Lucas on in the last few minutes when you need a goal, you have another aerial threat when we inevitably start sending balls into the box. And tbf to Mason, we scored from a header at the end.
Lucas hasn't scored in like 30+ appearances and playing at RWB isnt likely to be in the box to win headers anyway.

Porro's scored like 2 in 8 and has a fantastic cross. He's just a much better option at RWB if you want to score or assist a goal IMO.

Been saying all year that half the problem with Son's performances are down him playing deep with his back to goal rather than just form.

Today high up and on the shoulder he looked world class again (admittedly against a v.high line which is perfect for him).

Good to see Mason act upon that and use him where he's most effective.

Spot on. No reason at all to take him off for Lucas.

I wonder how serious his claim to the permanent job is ?
Perhaps it is the apathy from this season and the last few years but I am not sure I am against it in any way at this stage !

The Mason calls are premature and unfounded.

He has however done a solid job over the last couple of games.

For those that are calling for Mason, can I ask you what his 'footballing philosophy is' or his tactical preferences?

And if you're still not sure what they are, why you would still want him to have the job?
Give him more than three days and a style of play me become apparent

Maybe but he conducts himself so well and deserves the chance to impress.

Positives and negatives. Is he too close to the players? Still name and status that decide game time.

I’d be going all out for Nagelsmann but if we can’t land him I’d absolutely give Mason the reigns. Especially if Kane is off.

He’s giving me great vibes.

Fuck me, that's the language of a solicitor or a ppolitician, I want no part of that in my club.

Beautiful baseless arguments, gotta love them. ❤️
Dude, he started insinuating the players weren't good enough for him shortly after he signed. Pretty sure you can find comments supporting that from interviews and press conferences after most of our losses. Just because he wasn't as extreme as after the Southampton game, it doesn't mean he didn't talk down the players before that. And even if he didn't, a great motivator would never end up speaking like that anyway.

Yeah it's been noticeable how much better he has looked last 2 games by simply being played to his strengths.

Shockingly bad management that he was constantly played deep under pressure with his back to goal.

I say give Mason the job permanently! He clearly has the tools to unify the club and group of players, he loves Tottenham and his philosophy is reminiscent of Pochettino.
