Really happy with this news.

For Mason it’s a very different Manager to work with and learn from. Completely different as a tactician and leader than Conte.

Also all the noise is how much positive change has been done behind the scenes by Mason. Having some sort of continuity and continuation of that is a definite positive.

Might also expedite the squad analysis process. Mason will know each player in both ability and character. Which is a huge advantage to our pre season and transfer plans.

I know Mason is highly rated inside the club, but I do wonder if our players need completely new voices from the coaching staff. I do think we need a fresh approach. Maybe Mason can still be part of that.
I think given a completely different style of manager coming in makes it worthwhile him staying for both sides. It's obvious Mason tried a more attacking approach immediately after Mourinho and Stellini.

Not saying he got everything right, but I feel his approach is closer to Ange's style, than the last 3 we had in charge.

Out of interest what was the changes behind the scenes? Don't think I saw anything specific, so quite interested.

Completely agree though working with Ange will be very different in terms of tactics and style

Wasnt their European & Championship interest in him being manager? He’s ready for it, imo. But i guess more exposure to different systems will only help his tactical acumen. So I’m good with this. He should go onto have a successful career in coaching now. Good for him.

I think it makes sense for him to stay, and I think it was always in the cards. It’s best for him to stay, and learn, and also for us as we can get some continuity going with an easy change when Ange’s time is up. It’s the way I think we should behave manager wise. Now we need to find the next Mason.

Glad he's staying, but he shouldn't stick around for more than a year or two. It will be good for him to work with an authoritative coach that is playing football that aligns to his own footballing ideologies.

I think the more reliable journalists have spoken about him reintroducing standards, behaviours and values across coaching and back room staff. Making everyone feel connected/a part of the club.

I also like the interviews and comments from him as well as Kane explicitly talking about values and culture

Lovely. Absolutely adores the club and gets on with the players - fundamentally cannot understand why someone would have a problem with this.

Well, not that it matters, but I for one am bloody delighted he’s staying. I think it’s vital that club identity, values, etc are understood and fostered by people who ‘get it’ and Mase is one of our own, at the club since he was 8. It’s in his blood in the same way it’s in Harry’s and that has to count for something. When you listen to stuff like the High Performance podcast you know he has the right stuff, and he’s hungry to learn and improve. For me, he’s going to learn more serving these apprenticeships with Jose, Conte, and now Ange than he’d learn as a journeyman in L1.

In other words, you like the gu….. errrm never mind, we’ve done this dance before😜

Jokes aside, I don’t share your positivity about Mason. I think it was completely the wrong thing to do to give it to him and I lay that blame squarely at the door of Levy.

Personally, when I look at it objectively, I don’t think Mason has performed particularly well, with his tactical performance being around par overall (bit naiive but showed some good endeavour at times).

I hope we do not do the cowardly and unfair thing and foist Mason on the next coach. I don’t want him kept on as some kind of cultural ambassador to help the next manager “get” the club….we have JD, Ledley and others who can help the next manager do that.

Let Mason go to League 1 or 2 and start his career as a manager. Will be great to see him progress over time.
Let's just see how this going.....

Reading these responses I must be old fashioned in valuing actual football/coaching ability above all else when considering who I'd ideally like work for the club.

Mason is only 31. He has plenty of time to have a managerial career of his own should he want it.

Don't get the anger either way. He can help Ange understand the club and its traditions further.

Clubs like Barcelona, Ajax and Liverpool have a tradition of fostering relationships with their former players and promoting from within the club. Maybe it's one of the reasons why so many ex-Liverpool pros are so loyal to the club in the media. They have a history of showing respect for their own. I think that is something we should be looking to emulate.

Mason could stay for another 10 years then leave and he’d still be classed as a very young manager, don’t get all the “he’s got to leave for the sake of his career”.

No harm in learning under different types of managers, i for one am glad he’s staying.

The amount of fans bashing him on social media being levy puppet is pathetic and saying he should leave. I for one am very happy he’s staying.

Gets on with all the boys and knows everyone’s abilities and limitations which would be good for Ange.

Very likeable and grounded and easy to get along with.

Bleeds Spurs and will always put the club first before anything.

only 31 and will learn so much from an attacking coach like Ange.

he’s still so young and and people are so quick to judge.

There's been nothing but praise for his coaching ability from those around the club.
Only going on what I've seen during the games mate. A lot has been said already with regards to game management etc and I would question the impartiality of anyone associated with the club but take your point nonetheless.
