Why is the Independent giving this guy oxygen? Not quite in the same league as putting Joey Barton on Question Time but still....

The bit chucked in about our security regime was a tad off topic and seemed like a bag of rotton plums

Other than that the article isn't 'much of a muchness'

He's probably close to having run out of people who'll interview him.

Tim: Do you do interviews?
Paper: Yes, who is this?
Tim: Tim Sherw...
Paper: *dial tone*

Utter bollocks.

This is the same Sherwood who didn't want to "take all the credit" for Roy's dismissal at Blackburn?

Whoever ghost wrote that wants a medal.

Talks a good game!
What makes me laugh is he says 'Roy did not waste a minutes training'. He should have taken note, we looked like we had never been near a training pitch when he was in charge!

who do you reckon ghost wrote it for him. My money is on Sam Wallace. He seemed to defend Sherwood to the hilt every time he's been on tv.

It's ghost written in that he's given a spoken interview which a journalist has written up into an article, the journalist has not made it up however.

I agree about Lallana and Sterling but not about Wilshere. He looks anything but comfortable on the ball at the moment, spends more time on the floor and also looks very unfit.

Shame Oxlade-Chamberlain is injured.

What English central midfielder does look comfortable keeping the ball, Carrick I would say but he is not going

Barkley, up until the last touch - often. It's just that Tim specifically says they need someone comfortable on the ball and mentions Wilshere, that's why I disagree.

There's a lot of interesting stuff in that interview, especially about the past, but also tactically [yes]. And [said I smugly] he confirms what I wrote, all through the second half of last season, about Lennon's continuing selection.

There's a capable manager in there, it just isn't cooked yet. He needs a few years working in a lower division environment, to get a better grip of the complex personnel-management and public-relations aspects of the job. If there's a potential downside to his brief tenure at Tottenham, it's that he'll probably get a higher-profile job straight away, on the strength of his Premier League experience. I'm not sure that would be a good plan.

I remember when the Times had Jol writing a column for the 2006 World Cup and it was really insightful. He explained a lot of the footballing and coaching philosophies of different nations which made it something to really look forward to reading.

Not holding out much hope for Sherwood, infact I'll probably only read them to see if he's going to shoe-horn in some moaning about Spurs every week.

Good read...........its good to know why Tim persevered with Aaron Lennon.........his defending was the only part of his game that actually helped the team.
