Not getting on the pitch tonight.

Harry prefers the magic of Jenas to win the game.

I hope this doesn't prove to be a pointless loan.

Ouch, just had a look and if I was Carroll last night I would have been disappointed in Karl Henry starting in front of me.

I think it'd be nice for Carroll to get game time in a 4-4-2 to develop other aspects of his game, but Harry can't exactly afford to force him into the team. Knuckle-draggers like Karl Henry are really strong in the Championship.

Carroll played last Saturday, and will probably play this weekend. Harry has to balance his use of the squad so i'll give him the benefit of the doubt in leaving Carroll out of Wednesday's game. Besides, sometimes it's not good for young players to play too many games so early in their Career. I don't think there's any danger that Carroll will find this a pointless loan.

QPR fans seem unimpressed, bordering on hostile. Beyond being dismissive of him because of his physique, the main complaint seems to be that his passing his negative; I suspect a lack of intelligent running means that he is obliged to play safe to retain possession.

Anyway, let's hope Harry looks after him and he doesn't get the crowd on his back.

classic Tom Carroll, economic player intelligent not wasteful, if nothing's on keep it but not sure QPR fans would know about that.

Not sure if this link will work but I saw it on twitter:

@OfficialQPR: PASS MASTERS: Check out Saturday's incredible 33 pass move featuring @tom_carroll92 @Joey7Barton and @Gazoneil #QPR http://t.co/CSFyh5zDAW

I have no issue with Carroll at QPR if they are playing that kind of football.

Oh dear god what is Tom Carroll doing in the Championship? He must be the best player in the league by a million, million miles.

No matter who you're playing that passage of play looked the nuts didnt it? His movement in particular was superb.

It's something that has always stood out in Carroll's game is his movement and willingness to offer the man on the ball a passing option.

Yeah it was nice, shame it didn't result in a goal. Maybe it was down to coaching...

I really think if that Ajax loan link was true that would have been such a great move for him, I really, really hope he didn't turn it down in favour of QPR.

No doubt, Bond and Redknapp drilling the players in tika-taka since the beginning of time.

It might be a decent move but not sure what they are counting...

They seem to be counting heavy touches as passes?

Maybe a little early for him to move to a club that actually expects of him? Or are QPR fans being overly harsh. I can imagine they are desperate to get back in the Prem, and any misstep from players new or old will be viewed particularly harshly.

If Carroll would have gone to a club lower down the Championship, I think the fans would have given him more time to adapt and make more mistakes. Any learning experience is good for him, as long as 'Arry and the Spurs coaches make sure his head isn't dropping.

You can't really blame the QPR fans though; they have aspirations and shouldn't really be expected to accept the blooding of a player for another team should it effect their progress. Its a massive opportunity for him though, adapting his game to learn the ugly side of things will only benefit him. As a previous poster said if he hasn't got the players around him making the correct runs then it is difficult to play his natural game. We've all played in matches against teams that are tactically and technically of a much lower level than us and yet struggled to play your natural game. Its about adapting to the lowest denominator.

I think he'll do fine, he is only there until January isn't he?

Yeah, but may favourite was pass number 7 to that bit of scaffolding. Never a moments trouble that scaffolding.

90% pass accuracy and 130 touches today. Most touches of any QPR player today, maybe he is just starting to bed in?
