Personally, I'd say dominance/self-confidence/arrogance is exactly what he lacks. He needs more confidence in his abilities, and his size, and he needs to be winning midfields. He has the capabilities to do it, but he needs to come out of his shell a bit.

I think this point is the central issue on the debate about Huddlestone.

At the highest Premiership level I would agree with you but then he's only played half a season worth of games for us so won't be confident enough quite yet.

But when you watch him for the under-21's you see a player who runs the game and the potential for what he could be shows through.
But then we have to remember he is just that, an under-21 player and I think that as his confidence grows at the higher level we will see him re-create his under-21 form in the Premiership.

I know it's easy to throw the 'but Fabregas did it' accusation but he was an exceptional talent coming into a team that was already guaranteed CL football so there was no pressure on Wenger.
Jol cannot afford the time to bed in a new youngster as he's been under pressure to qualify for the UEFA last year and will be under more pressure to challenge the top four this.

Hopefully, if England do well in the euro-championships this summer Jol may use that as a springboard for Huddlestone to claim a place in our side.

A Blackburn-supporting friend of mine has just told me that the Blackburn forums are buzzing with news of a bid for Tom Huddlestone.

A bit of a strange rumour gaining ground - a deal is apparently on to bring Tom Huddlestone to Ewood.

Can't see why Spurs would want to sell to us unless they hope to get MGP in a deal.

I've not found out what his source is yet, but it's usually Alan Nixon, a sports journalist. Nixon posts on their website and pretty much just tells them whatever he knows, a day or so before it becomes public knowledge.

The Hudd is the real deal. He's going nowhere. Wouldn't mind a bid for Zokora though.

I like The Hudd, and I think he bags of potential, but i also think his game (or is it his lack of mobility) suits a 5 man midfield more than 4.

He'd be the perfect replacement for Tugay though - they're very similar in the way they play.

Fabulous passer and glacially slow? He just lacks experience.

Granted, and I don't think he was that quick when he was younger. But how often is he seriously disdvantaged by his lack of pace? He's worked out ways to compensate for it, which is what the Hud needs to do. He made our midfield look like pub players at the Lane last season.
