Jesus, can you imagine the toon fans if he returned. They'd be back winning the Premiership within two seasons.

The second coming of the Messiah was supposed to signify the end of days. I have no idea what the third coming would entail..

Surely Ashley could raise the 100 million he wants by selling every member of the senior squad and playing the youth. Their academy cant be that bad, and i'm sure they have more fight in them than the first team.

You are applying far too much common sense.

If you were in Newcastle's position, would you not be tempted to basically tell the entire first team, any who want to stick around but want top flight football will be loaned out with as much of their wages being picked up by the other clubs as possible. With the money you'd save on their pay packets, re-build the team with cheap signings and youth for the soul aim of getting promoted back to the prem.

Any that impress can stick around & all of those who went out on loan, if promotion is achieved in one season, come back and the team has at least a established members to start the campaign back in the top flight. If promotion doesn't happen, those out on loan can then negotiate their contract, but, in the short term, their main concerns should be reducing their outlay and focussing solely on bringing in players cheap who have a desire to actually do well, and a reward at the end if they manage it.

The new guys name who supposedly wants to take over is Sirous Mahjoob. Nothing comes up when you put his name into Google though.

Gotta be another wind up, surely.

Yep. It was announced in June I think but it's on the listings now which is why I mentioned it again. The BBC have the right to show 10 games from the Championship next season I believe, so it's not every week. I think they're showing the second newcastle game too.

The sad thing is, that means the joke about Newcastle and MOTD is wrong

Shame it's only 10, seems a bit pointless. If it was a game a week I would probably tune in regularly. Shame football is totally dominated by Sky these days.

They're having their defence dismantled day by day. Probably their 2 best defenders have just left and now what was already bad is looking really dire for them. I don't think they have a prayer against West Brom.
