O'Leary is a better choice than Keegan or Shearer. A point away isn't a bad result for them.

Yeah but that's like saying a kick in the shin is better than a kick in the balls (or for keegan a kick to the heart wearing spikes). One might be slightly less painful/deadly but you still wouldn't want it to happen.

O'Leary was pathetic at Villa and in being pathetic he also rubbed just about everyone up the wrong way. And at Leeds, where he supposedly 'made his name', he basically spent lots and lots of cash and then when he couldn't anymore got found out.

If he goes to Newcastle it'll be another fairly large nail in their increasingly nail filled coffin.

Graeme Souness then, aye?

Actually I think Yosser Hughes would do a better job then Souness. Players like Barton would be rolling around the grass holding their recently headbutted faces. The players would know to stay in line and do their damned jobs.

I can't remember the last time i enjoyed another team's downfall quite this much. But seriously, David O'Leary?? FFS, you would basically consign your team to relegation if you employed that tool.

Newcastle aren't in an easy situation (stating the obvious I know). The fans hate the board and only seem to support two possible managers. One did a good job for them a decade ago and has struggled ever since. The new manager needs to be able to work on a very tight budget, Keegan is hardly the man for this. Shearer hasn't got his coaching badges and despite a lot of support couldn't get a win for Newcastle in the Prem.

An experienced manager who can work on a budget is desperately needed so O'Leary is not the right man either. Curbishely, Coppell or maybe Paul Jewell are their best options but the Newcastle fans wouldn't support them either.

It's going to be another long hard season for the Geordies, and it's partly their own doing.

Olsson you IDIOT!

I love how the flag sign comes on screen straight away and the commentators claim it was for pushing. :bang: What's the point of commentators when someone watching at home can work out more than them

Smith and Barton are doing their usual "run round like an idiot" sorta thing, Smith shoulda gone, Barton shoulda been booked.

2-0 good goal as well, Nolan chased down a ball noone else was going for and a good cross for Amiobi to direct a header back across the goal in to the far corner

Amiobi hattrick 3-0 (pen)

Very disappointed with Reading, hoped they'd get something today

Shamefully I backed the Toon today, I thought they were far to long at 6/4 to beat an obviously troubled Reading at home.
