But EVERYONE knows how bloody tough November is going to be and until we emerge on the other side of that and into December relatively still in the hunt, then I for one refuse to entertain any other league placement conversation other than talk about how nice our current run is and wouldn't it be nice if it could continue and we could be top 4 again.

I wont even start putting up hopes in december mate. Id go all the way to late April before entertaining any thoughts of getting the CL spot.

This is Spurs. Lest you forget, we are always in strong positions come the end of the year but always seem to falter at the last stretch of the season, putting all those good work in the 1st half of the season to waste.

So im waiting till late April before putting my hopes up

Ffs, so many of these comments is why the team are not mentally strong. If we can't believe in them, then how the fuck can we ever expect them to?

Wow. You really think the comments in SC are the reason the team is mentally weak. How influential we are. Wow.

Look, I'm not saying that we should all run around with our heads up our arses proclaiming that we're gonna win the league (we're not Liverpool after all), but to be thinking fucking doomsday is "just around the corner" is awful and so timid.

Bottom line is; man up, grow some balls and believe in them, because confidence is fucking powerful thing.
I'm all for the team showing belief, but I'm a great believer in a degree of humility as fans, especially since our team has achieved precious little vs the teams/fans we proclaim we belong amongst.

I get where you're coming from but we actually don't falter, arsenal just always go on title winning runs after Christmas. In the last 5 seasons we've finished above every single team, except the scum.

I'm not sure if we have a chance this year, it's too early. I worry that we aren't creative enough, I worry that we are only a couple of key injuries away from disaster. Can we do it? Yes. Will we do it? We'll see.

He means that at some point over the last five years we've finished above Chelsea, Man City, Utd etc. Not that we've finished above them ALL in the same season.

We lose all three, the top 4 via the league is most likely beyond as probably chelsea will at least be 6 points behind us but more likely 3.
If we get 3-5 points we have a chance of top 4(if the 3 points are all draws)
If we get 6-7points we are top 4 challengers
If we win all 3 we are then at least 2 points behind arsenal and probably be 3 points behind Man city. We are then long shots at doing a title challengers(similar to what we were under Redknapp when we went on a 11 match unbeaten run and got 31 points out of 33, we weren't real title challengers but we were within 7 points of the title at the start of the collapse)

That doesn't mean we are going to win the title or even be at arsenal's level. We are still below that but remember when Liverpool nearly won the title they weren't near to a title challenge by the end of December but the bigger clubs couldn't run away from Liverpool that season. We don't have a suarez or anyone of that ilk but we would still be close to the title challengers should we win those matches and the december matches(which is an easy run of games in comparison, though no easy games in the PL and we will lose to Norwich)

These next 3 matches are the biggest test this team will face. They shouldn't really fear anyone atm after the City match.

Here we have 3 very different matches
Vs. Arsenal - we are playing the best team in the PL at the moment(top of the form table)
Vs. West Ham - This will show how tactically mature we are as we will face a team set up to beat the top teams and whether we are tactically naive but letting them play their game
Vs. Chelsea - This is the game that show whether we can get over the problems of travelling far away in Europe and if we are mentally strong enough to put down a team that is limping along and playing very badly but still got great players and will be up for it against their rivals.

I think this month we will learn more about how far Poch has come than we have before

Interesting thoughts, thanks. Win all three but losing kane long term and wed drop out of the picture though. Likely the same with hugo. Scum have welbeck and walcott down, still have one left, we have no such resources. Rather we do but we didnt spend.. Still, he can put the wanyama cheque back in his deep pocket eh. If we had a competitor for kane wed be in with a good shout of top 4.

Well, yeah it's part of it to be honest.

A lot of what is said on here is a direct reflection of how many fans are feeling. And this can be painfully obvious on match days IMO. More so at home than away.

The atmosphere at WHL can be so nervous at times, it's embarrassing. And part of this is down to the lack of belief that many of the fans have (which is what I was referring to).

The annoying thing is that teams and managers are hugely aware of this weakness and are always trying to exploit it.

So yeah in answer to your post, together we are all massively influential on what happens on the pitch.

We've been ok without Son and Chadli. Much more a comparison with Walcott and Wellbeck.

Kane has only scored in 3 league games this season.

How so? Kanes played every game bar one was it? Scoring in just three, but contributing well beyond putting theball away.

Walcott and giroud have shared the loan striker role down the road.

Still not confident we'll get 4th, but then again, we just outplayed Arsenal and made them look ordinary, and they beat United 3-0 in the same fixture.

4 points from the next 2 and I think we'll be set up perfectly for a crack at the top 4.

I think we'll do it barring an incredible run of form from Chelsea.
