Reading that Chelsea turned down a W.Ham bid for Torres.

How available is he? How much would they settle for or what about a loan deal if we can't get Adebayor?
I was one of the its "all in his head" crowd, lack of confidence and all that but I am starting to think he may never come back, in England anyway. He just looks unintrested and a shadow of his former self. I would take a loan deal but buying him would be to big a risk now IMO.He would be still on a big wage and if he failed with us after fading away at Liverpool, bombing at Chelsea he would be very hard to get good money for. A great shame cause he was world class at a time.
I'd take him all day long at Spurs. If we couldget him for £15m, fit inour wage structure, he'd be a great gamble. Our style of play suits his game perfectly IMHO.
This is exactly why they needed Modric so badly...and why their refusal to even remotely play ball (relying instead on the player trying to force the price down) made for slightly strange reading last Summer. As I said at the time, I suspect it may have been the result of UUFAs Fair Play regulations, because, previously they would not have taken no for an answer IMHO. And they did need Modric absolutely insanely badly - I watched a few games last season where they had plenty of movement up front and instead slowed the play down in the centre.
Torres can still be a fantastic player though and his movement is still first rate which in a side like ours could be a recipe for success. Would they really sell to us though - very much doubt it unless they tried to include Modric in any type of deal which automatically voids any negotiations IMO.
Would take him without question. Harry is known for getting players back to their best and I feel he would fit in well with our squad, they could give him the boost he needs. Whereas at Chelsea he probably just sulks in the corner hoping Terry doesn't ask about his wife.
He will probably end up going back to Spain for £15million or so and will be amazing again.
I would love him at Spurs, especially if we could get him on the cheap... but as mentioned above, Chelsea would demand Modric as part of the deal so it's no-go!
I think the Modric link is so last year.
Modric might be going to Man.Utd but the Torres swap makes no sense
if if we finish above Chelsea or they don't make CL in any case.
If you think that Torres can return to form, and I do, then the questions are:
Would he fit in at Spurs?
Would they sell him to us for less than say £35 million?
Would we be able to afford him even on loan?
Would we prefer to get Adebayor sorted in any case?
I think the answer to all these questions is yes, but the Ade situation might be more difficult than we think.
