You can see why players want to play for him (and perhaps why they don't want to leave...)

“I knew the players but when you arrive somewhere you feel the players, you start to see them in a different way. It’s true that some players in certain situations surprise you, but I am very pleased with all of them. We have unbelievable players and this is important to achieve something.”

Fook me, that guy was our manager (or head coach).

I know I was one of the people firmly in his corner before he came in but he is exceeding my expectations already. Just hope that carries on into the competitive games.

He really has something about him. Personable but also has a tangible hunger about him (not a remark on his chubby cheeks btw). Got a confidence about himself and his methods as well, and looks to have a great work ethic.

We might just have nailed it this time.

That Ben Pearce article was like the spurs fans equivalent of 50 shades of grey...

I am at work and can't listen at work, any danger of some one posting what was said?

It's nothing ground breaking, stuff we already know really. A few embarrassing questions like "Why speaky de English now?" and "Ossie and Ricky were here. You're Argentinian. Do you love Spurs as a result?" His answers were pretty standard. Didn't want to be misinterpreted for the former and gave a vague "They're legends for the club" answer for the latter.

He was asked about getting the best out of players. Sotton players saying you need "2 hearts and 3 lungs" to play for him. He just said how hard work pays off basically. Then asked if being Argentinian and having coached in Spain will help Lamela and Soldado, to which he said pretty much said it's a team game and it's about getting everyone working hard and working together.

Standard answers really, nothing majorly insightful about tactics. Did have a laugh that he's a "head coach" and not a manager.

Edit: He also said that the Europa League is different because of CL qualification when asked about him not liking it previously.

Seems awesome! Looking forward to seeing the style he mentions play out on the pitch.

Sherwood feels like a terrible nightmare now, thank Christ!

Seriously, that 'que?' remark about Lamela... what a fucking idiot he was.

Thank God we now have a proper manager who understands the importance of a good squad harmony and how to give a player confidence to improve his development.

'Get information into them' my arse...

It's a lot different to what tim Sherwood said about us having only one world class player, what a tool , nothing like making players feel good, poch is a class act

The great thing with Poch seems to be his professionalism and his clear idea of what he's doing. It's all about the team and a shared vision. Our last few managers always gave the impression it was all about them. I liked AVB but he seemed to be insecure and trying to prove something all the time and Tim was always telling us how great he was without any evidence on the pitch or his relationships with his players.

The club feels like it did ahead of Jol's first full season in charge or Harry's first full season in charge. Exciting times. Good football ahead I hope.

Pity we've got Europa league to clutter things but I think it will be a plus as Poch can get to know more members of the squad and youth teams. Poch doesn't seem to have much of a negative agenda either. Just work hard and play good football.

We've usually done alright with chubbier managers at the helm as well.

that 'que?' remark was diabolical...I can just see Levy and Franco cringing when they heard it.

I liked the BBC interview. He seems to be growing into the media role. Probably over the initial butterflies by now.

“Now it’s good, my communication - and I’m lucky because my assistant, Jesus, has very good English and helps me every time. He’s always close to me".

What a team, eh!

“Sometimes my English seems poor and it’s difficult to explain in the way that I want, and it’s for that that I used the translator in Southampton. At times it’s possible Jesus or other people will help me in the press conference.”

Didn't know Poch was a religious man...
