Please say that's a joke...

Read it carefully, without the headline:

DL (Levy) responded that contingency has been considered and there was the option to stay at Wembley for a second season, although it was hoped that wouldn’t be needed. Premier League rules do not permit a change in home venue during a season but the Premier League could be approached when the fixtures are being arranged for the 2018-19 season to request the first two games be played away from home.

It would have been very unwise not to prepare for the eventuality. That's not to say we expect a problem but " To fail to prepare is to prepare to fail".

I remember someone was saying that we are a month behind schedule. Maybe it's now more then that. Hopefully we can keep in with in 3months or so... So maybe we can request the league to schedule away matches while we are doing the finishing touches to the stadium.

But let's hope for the best and hope things run smoothly.

Taken from the THFC/THST Board to Board Meeting, 2 May 2017

"KL asked for an outline of the build schedule for the stadium from here on in. It was obviously on time right now, considering the Wembley deal had been signed, but what should fans look out for over the coming months as signals it’s still on course? DL said that the roof going on at the end of January/ early February 2018 would be a big indicator".

We had a mild winter and had no delays there. The various photos being posted shows that work is now going on inside the parts of the stadium that are ready for it. Once the roof goes on in January / February most of the work will then be going on inside and that part of the works will not be subject to inclement weather. That's not to say that other factors won't influence the build but with the external works done, once we move inside the risk of delay reduces.

Really wouldn't surprise me if we did have to use it for a second year. You just never know with construction projects on this sort of scale so it makes sense to have the contingency plan in place.

Good, I think. We don't want to be away from Tottenham any longer than we have to but there is naturally a chance things could be delayed and we have to be ready at the latest by early September 18 so it's just in case. I hope building goes to plan and we have the best stadium in the league in little more than a year.
