I make that article bang on.
We oozed style and glamour when I was a kid.
We are boring now, almost irrelevant and going round and round in circles.
I blame ENIC and Levy
And to do is to dare as a motto is now laughable.
Harsh but true
Our highest finish under Sugar was 8th and we only managed that twice.Absolute codswallop.
Where did we finish on average in the couple of decades before Enic?

I agree with the first part of your post. We haven't really done a lot wrong in terms of our effort to break into the top four. Apart from the gulf in finances, our problems have largely been down to signings (both managerial and players) that seemed good at the time, but which didn't turn out well. It does seem odd to lay into the club just a few weeks after we finally got the ball rolling on a brand new stadium.
I don't agree with the second part of your post. It's not that people would be happy for us to be entertaining but in mid-table, but over the course of the season it would be more enjoyable being a Spurs fan. If we were playing exciting football and around mid-table that would mean we'd be picking up wins with exciting football at least one in three games. That would certainly lift expectations and excitement ahead of home games as it would at least offer the possibility of going to see an entertaining game, rather than the predictable, somnambulating dross we see week in, week out.
In the past we never knew which Spurs would turn up, but at least they did turn up.
For me the Red knap years really show that our fans care more about success than style when it comes down to it.
Under H we were attacking, unpredictable and at times appalling and it was a team that the entire country thought was great to watch.
And what did most spurs fans whinge about? We didn't win enough and 'threw away' 3rd with our reckless play.
Basically people want us to win and when we don't they'll complain and when we win they'll complain we don't play well enough.
Basically we're all wankers.
Absolute codswallop.

Not sure I agree with that assessment. We did blow 3rd place spectacularly, which was compounded in the worst possible way by Chelsea beating Bayern and taking our 4th place spot. However, most Spurs fans I know absolutely loved watching us before the wheels came off. We had a great run in the CL, and I think most people thought that getting to the quarter-finals was a great achievement.
Of course people were going to complain when we started playing badly - that's perfectly natural - but I got the impression that a lot of pride was restored during the majority of Harry's reign.
That's like defending Police Academy 6 by pointing out it was better than Police Academy 5!
Nice analogy!
But not, to be fair, very accurate.
To be literal and pedantic, Police Academy 6 was a stand alone movie. Of course it followed on from every previous Police Academy movie but there is no reason why, with a new team of top writers and a good director, it couldn't have bucked the trend and been a well made film comedy within its limited genre.
By contrast, ENIC's Spurs is not a stand alone football club (if you'll excuse the stretched metaphor). It only exists within a specific context. And that context is the legacy that ENIC inherited from previous Spurs regimes. The crapness of Police Academy 5 needn't have determined the quality of Police Academy 6. But the mismanagement of Spurs by Scholar and, in a different way, by Sugar inevitably determined the horizons for ENIC's Spurs.
How are you going to tell supporters they should be happy with their lot, when it's clear that Levy isn't that way?It stops being opinion when it turns into dogma. Why do something like following Spurs when you sound so brassed off with it.
I understand you getting piss off with results like Saturday and the teams downturn recently.....but we are sixth with a new season round the corner and hopefully a new stadium along the way. Be happy!

Not so much simply 'be happy' no matter what. But try taking a step back and not getting sucked into negative spiral over something which how ever much you hate whoever or want to change something, you have bugger all control.....so chill.
All you will end up like poor old Basil...
It seems like what you are describing is the attitude of our players at the moment, they are getting thousands a week, nothing in their minds to play for, so they are just chilling, without a care in the world.
