First 30 mins they were threatening to destroy us. We were set up too cagey, Dier on Jesus, Sanchez and Verts zonal... But Tripps and Davies were left covering Silva, Sane, Davies and De Bruyne. Hence Sanchez being caught out twice by balls over the top. Moussa couldn't get his groove on at all.

Thankfully Poche moved Lamela left, Eriksen right, Dembele forward and Alli back. Then Sanchez picked up Jesus, and the aforementioned were finally keeping DeBruyne and Silva busy. As such we got control and pressed up on them until we scored.

Can't defend Hugo. Outside the box but didn't need to rush out there.

Hopefully some pace from Son to run at them this half.

COYS!

BTW - I was ignoring the thread early, but saw some complaints about the Pen given to City, as outside the box - if Moss does not award the Pen there, Lloris probably sees red. Rather concede the goal, than play the rest of the match with 10 men.

Agreed. I think Moss actually kind of spared us there. If it was another yard outside the box it couldn't be marked off as a non blatant error. In that case, he could have easily sent Lloris off.

It's staggering how many times Poch makes the same mistakes, because he's a great coach. He knows how this City will play. And we go high line, 2 sluggish CM's, and amble about in forward areas with half arsed, uncoordinated pressing, with inevitable results.

I just do not understand how Poch keeps doing this and expecting something different. Guardiola's a fantastic coach, but his approach is, if nothing else, the most predictable thing in football. He at least gives you that.

You either sit deeper and condense spaces or you press fucking properly. One goes, everyone goes, including the CM's.

The only excuse for leaving yourself outnumbered in midfield/defence is if you're going to overload forward areas and press like fuckery. We just fucking ambled around, allowed them to play out through midfield way to easily and then they were onto the CB's.
And when we are trying to play out, through their press, you've got Dier hiding because he doesn't want the ball with someone up his arse, so we are struggling to break theirs, but they piss through ours.

Kane's been as bad as anyone. A few minutes before the first goal I flagged him up for ambling and allowing Kompany all the time in the world to pick a pass through our forward line, and for the goal he's just too fucking lethargic and slow to get to Kompany and you just can't do that when you are playing a high line. I keep seeing Eriksen start a press and maybe one or two are going with him, but the other 2 or three players aren't, it's the worst thing you ca possibly do to this City team.

We don’t need a new keeper for fucks sake. Lloris is having a bad year so far. So what? He’s been amazing for us.

Worst thing about us losing is the Baby Dick Brigade come out in full force on this forum.

has trippier really been bad? i think he's handled sane well for the most part.
I think hes been a very mixed bag, done well in the main when isolated 1 on 1 vs sane but very poor pass for the 2nd city goal where he went to feet and lamela wanted it over the top. hasn't linked up well with lamela but lamela hasn't offered him enough protection

Lloris is a real concern that many are refusing to acknowledge.

Maybe it would be good for him to be benched - get him more motivated to get his act togheter. Or the straight opposite could happen ofc... He can't continue with these mistakes thats for sure.

Lloris is not above criticism. He's second in the league behind Cech in errors committed by keepers according to Opta stats, and we're nearly through with the season so that's hardly drawn from a small sample size. He's made glaring errors in three consecutive matches. To hand-wave away deserved criticism as the "Baby Dick Brigade" having a whinge is dismissive and childish.

Need a big performance here, if we can get a draw here from where we were I would be delighted.

Just don't want to concede anymore as GD could be a big factor with getting third, but also big game next Saturday
