When we fail to finish top 4, these last 3 League games were the reason why.

We'll have to make the most of the Real Madrid games because i'm not sure how long it will be until we're back in the Champions League again.

I have stuck by him and stuck by him. I can now say this: Fuck off Jermaine Defoe. Just fuck off. I am so frustrated by that performance. Pav all the way from here on in. What a load of shite from Defoe. Thought Modric was awesome.

:clap:well said that man

This is why some of us have been saying Pav should be first choice all season. Defoe isn't good enough.

I had an argument with an Everton fan last season who said Defoe is a "poor man's Saha". Right now I wouldn't be disagreeing with that lad.

He's a total liability right now and we'd be safer off playing with 10 men.

Defoe should no start another game for us this season. Very dissapointed
not exactly IMHO -- this loss of 2 points lays on Harry's shoulders for playing the wrong striker combo -- Defoe works well with Pav, and VDV works well with Crouchy.

That being said, Defoe blew it today - he had enough chances to win the game.

totally disgruntled -- :bang::beer:

Props to Sandro for being great today, and to Corluka who clearly played with a bad injury today... Bale didn't look 100% either.

That was absolute tosh. I had alot of faith in Defoe and the cocky twat also believed in himself with that 100 goals t-shirt but I have now had enough of his fucking wasted chances. He us costing us big time, fucking spammers celebrating like they survived relegation the silly ****s hope they fuck off to the championship

Dropped pts today, how the fuck do we expect to start clawing back the gap to 4th? One of the clubs (possibly both) above us will lose points today. Missing out on all 3 just isn't good enough. Never mind it still being in our hands, it isn't if Chelsea get the win today. Maybe that's not a bad thing. We only drop a bollock given a chance.

Never mind, top 5 is about right for us. Our strikers haven't been good enough all season long. As a team, we're about where deserve to be. We're bloody good but lack the finishing touch.

We can afford to miss top 4 for one season but the club has made the job of signing a striker of the required quality this summer an even harder one. If we thought we might be overpaying last summer, then a few people might wince at the quoted wages a striker at that level will want to come to a club not even in the CL.

I agree on the general malaise about Defoe but one point that I'd like to bring up is how much better Sandro played than Scott Parker. I'm a big Parker fan but Sandro already looks twice the player. Him and the obscenely brilliant Modric in the middle is irresistible. I just hope it proves as much to one of Europe's top strikers this summer as we really need some decent finishers.

What did the shot count end up being? Mid-20s? smh.

Jermaine Defoe is consistently: The wrong player at the right place at the right time. I don't think we'll win the league now. If we don't win the champions league we'll be playing the great Ukrainian team Snowstormski Steeltowners in October and without signing a Perostroikas we'll lose..

Like miles_64, I have stuck by Defoe. But I think I have finally realised he isn't the striker that will take us to the next level. His finishing today was dreadful. Really annoyed with today's result. 2 points against Blackpool, Wolves and West Ham is unacceptable.

Attacking wise:

Modric - superb, best player by a mile today.

Defoe - terrible terrible finishing.

Pav - Good cameo, at least he showed for the ball and tried to take the iniative, rather than hide like JD.

Bale - first game back, wasnt happening though for him. I would have brought Niko on for him (what does the guy have to do to get a game?)

Van der Vaart - busy at times, fades after 60 mins though again. Needs to do some serious fitness work.

Lennon - didnt do well against Bridge, although on the left looked slightly better with the shot against the post.

Frustrating game.

Defoe was awful. That's top 4 gone, unless Man City crumble badly, they aren't looking too good at the moment either.

31 - Tottenham attempted 31 shots (inc. blocked) v West Ham – only on three occasions this season have a side had more in a PL game. Denied.
