He's been offered new contracts on numerous occasions and not signed.
Why is this different?

Because we are a better place to be - and because he is injured and might be concerned if he will be able to reproduce his form after the injury. Impeccable timing... He will sign I think.

My opinion of Jan has gone up massively this season. He's always looked like a good player, good technically that sort of thing but I wondered if he actually wanted to defend. This year he seems to be battling harder to win every header and interception. Regarding the cost argument, high wages would in my view be a good investment. Right now we have a young squad with no experience but Jan has won titles and done it all before, we need that blend of youth and experience.

Coz he wants to be able to tell his grandhildren that he was part of the team that started the revolution that made the name Tottenham Hotspur a global icon in football
