Cant argue with the ambition and the new home stand sounds fantastic but can we just start building the bloody thing.

I couldn't agree more. Waiting for Christmas as a six-year-old was nothing compared to the impatience I experience reading about the new stadium. I know the amount of red tape is huge in these cases, but the delays we've had to face here is ridiculous. I wouldn't be surprised if Chelski can get their applications through in time to finish their renewed stadium at the same time despite just beginning the process. Roll on 2018, hopefully with a season of homegames at Wembley (with or without sharing with Chelski).

Looks impressive, and long overdue. Perhaps the Archway legal case was a blessing in disguise.. we now have a much better stadium than the one proposed in 2007 / 2008. I hope Upper East Stand Block D will still be there, lol.

We are building the bloody thing. Big hole in the ground. £50m contract for the substructure and superstructure signed ages ago.

It's difficult to get much further than that when we have only just applied for a revised planning consent. We don't want to be spending money on any bits of construction that might yet be changed.

I just hope we can fill it week in and week out.

The ideal size for a stadium is not what you can fill for every match. That would be too small. The ideal size is what you can fill for most matches.

The marginal costs of an extra few thousand seats aren't that much, compared to the nearly-fixed costs of building a big stadium. So you make it as big as you can, even if that means that it won't be full every time.

Aren't Chelsea expanding Stamford Bridge to 62 thousands or something of the like? Wouldn't surprise me if they waited to see what our capacity was then make their ground slightly bigger.
