Tottenham arrived in Donetsk at 16:30. Having gone through all customs formalities, the players finally appeared in the hallway where they were met by a group of Spurs supporters, collectors of autographs.

Tottenham coach, Henry Redknapp was among those who eagerly spoke with the fans, signing autographs and Matchday programmes.

The English specialist said that Premier League was his side’s priority number one, shifting the importance of the UEFA Cup on the second place.

Henry Redknapp has brought following players to field against Shakhtar:

Goalkeepers: Heurelho Gomes, Oscar Jansson

Defenders: Gareth Bale, Chris Gunter, Michael Dawson, Calum Butcher, Adam Smith, Pascal Chimbonda

Midfielders: Didier Zokora, David Bentley, Tom Huddlestone, Jermaine Jenas, Gilberto, John Bostock, Dean Parrett, Ryan Mason

Forwards: Darren Bent, Giovani Dos Santos, Fraizer Campbell, Jonathan Obika

No Modric or Woody

Gilberto - aargh!

No Modric? Hmm, did he pick up a injury with croatia or something?

I bet Gilberto doesn't even get on the bench. Harry's made it clear he's not a fan.

Gil bleedin' berto! How many times do I have to shake my head and say "Well, that's got to be the last we ever see of him." When did he change his name to Lazarus?

Hmmmn, given the second leg is only a few days away from the cup final, think it is safe to say there's not much chance of the big guns coming back in at WHL should we lose this one.

Will still watch it, though do have some sympathy with those that have made the trip and will be watching a relatively weakened team.

really pleased that there is plenty of talent out there even though so many players have been rested/cuptied/injured. there is a massive list of players left in london.
i think this would be a decent side:

------------bent------------
bale-------hudd-------gio--
--------zoko----bentley-----
jenas--gunter-dawson-chimbo
---------- gomes-------------

WTF is that squad all about...? Where's Lennon, BAE, Palacios and Woody (O'Hara and Modric are injured I hear)? Absolute joke and I seriously feel for the Spurs fans who have paid up and are there.

The best team we can pull together from them is

Gomes,
Gunter, Chimbo, Daws, Bale,
Bentley, JJ, Hudd, Zokora, GDS,
Bent.

Maybe you could swap one of the midfielders with F.Campbell to make it 4-4-2. If your gonna go out, then go out with all guns blazing as opposed with a weakened squad. The squad we have would have allowed us to field a stronger squad than the one is out there as Corluka, Pav & Keane are cup tied aswell as King is rested and O'Hara/Modric not risked. Seriously pissed off seeing that squad list!

From that squad I would go:

__________Gomes________

Gunter_Chimbo_Dawson__Bale

Bentley_Zokora_Jenas__Gio

_____Bent_____Campbell___

Plenty of pace on the counter attack, but I fear we will have to suck up a loss on this one...

* I don't think HR will start with young defenders in the backline, so i expect Zokora to be involved as RB or CB depending on Chimbonda if he would use him as RB or CB. But I would HR avoid using Zoko as CB because he was annoying vs Spartak, might be better against Shakhtar if they aren't physical team ?

Gomes
Zokora - Chimbonda - Dawson - Bale
Huddlestone
Bentley - Parrett - Jenas - Giovani
Bent

bench: Jansson, Smith, Gunter, Gilberto, Bostock, Mason, Campbell.

* i can see possible changes, using Gunter as RB, Zokora in the middle, Parrett/Bentley on right and Bentley/Giovani on left. OR droping Parrett for Gunter or striker in natural 4-4-2, although 4-5-1 better away from home.

* would like to see Jansson, Adams, Parrett, Mason, Bostock as we heard a lot about them recently in U18.
