The Sweden international is on loan at Tottenham, but Gazzetta reports Spurs will make his move permanent only if they get a discount from Juventus.
The North Londoners have already invested €10m in the winger’s loan and don’t want to add more than €20m to make his move permanent.

The original deal between Juventus and Tottenham included a €35m option to buy for Spurs, plus €3m add-ons.

He we go we're getting "Levyed" again.

TBF I do wonder if these reporters are just posting this shit due to Levy having a history of trying not to pay what was agreed.

It seems a stretch to expect a drop from E35M + E3M add-ons to E20M, unless the loan fee of E10M was included in the original agreement. Although the original agreement was dependent on us qualifying for the CL.

I don't really blame us for trying to chance our arm, what with the state Juve are in and I'm sure we'll just pay up the full amount if need be.

However, this does all add to the narrative of us being difficult to deal with and constantly reneging on agreements.

The agreement was based on us qualifying for the CL, which we haven't, so we wouldn't be reneging.

Indeed. There is no compulsory obligation as we didn't qualify for CL.

And, the option to buy was for last summer and has therefore expired. We're free to negotiate again from scratch, however so can other clubs. We're using the fact Kulu must want to stay as leverage.

If you always try to Levy everyone, in a small industry then no one will want to deal with you!

Levy has a terrible rep and you know he will try and screw you, it must make buying and selling tricky

Would be sad if we didn't sign him as he was so good in that first season and he's such an intelligent, talented player. He was my favourite in the whole team in the run-in of 21-22 and he's a great guy off the pitch too.

I do think that he's struggled a lot when teams figured us, and him, out. His lack of pace combined with him always wanting to cut onto his left and shoot/cross makes can make him quite easy to marshal once opposition players know how to handle him. I do worry that this could be an issue going forward, although I think we were so damn rigid and predictable as a team last season that Son was also hurting for similar reasons.

I think we'd need to have a really good replacement lined up if we do decide not to go through with the deal now, although I'd be a lot less upset about losing him now than I would've been 6-12 months ago.
