So, the team will play in Australia in June and the U.S. in July. I thought Mauricio wanted a less-travelled pre-season so he could really get the team onto higher levels of fitness?

Linking this with the Adebayor thread (only going to RM or Chelsea), maybe we can showcase and offload him in North America. They've got the money!

I imagine that Poch is seething inside - no matter what he says publicly.
He clearly wanted no pre-season long trips. It would appear that he has been double-crossed.

I can hear the monologue inside Levy's mind after agreeing with Poch:
"Yes, yes, this is good. Yes. No one long tour to one single continent. Noo, precious. We will go on several short trips to all the continents! Yes, we will, precious!"

It depends on your definition of a long trip. This would be a few days out of July, as opposed to the tours which can take weeks.

It could also be a compromise in order to secure some players Poch wants, as just one game like this can generate a lot of revenue.

I think it's more that this is only 10 days before the start of the new season, and as we have one as soon as this season ends, so it means that the trips span the length of pre-season. However i agree that these trips are necessary for revenue and to improve our worldwide fan base and that individual trips are much better than lengthy tours.

Stupid Article said:
Mauricio Pochettino will take his Spurs team to Colorado Rapids' Dick's Sporting Goods Park on July 29 - a match whichwill be Tottenham's only pre-season match outside of Europe.

So Australia joined Europe recently? No one told me!

Approximately 9,400 mile (15,000 km) round trip would fall within my definition of "long trip".

I'll reply in the form of a question...

Billy and Simon are both in School in England. Last summer, they each went on long trips for their school holiday.

Billy went to Florida for 3 days. Simon went to the Peak District for 3 weeks.

Who had the longer trip?

We might not send important players, perhaps any fringe players.

If we still have Ade, it might be the first pre-season "tour" he ever goes on!

It will be an especially tough game for Spurs as the NFL stadium there is called "Mile-High Stadium"......and it is approximately 5000feet above sea level.
