Eriksen is a joke at the moment. I wouldn't mind him not challenging for the ball, if he was covering the ground and making telling passes. he was a waste of a shirt today

We've needed two midfielders with at least two years now, and much longer in actuality. An understudy for Eriksen when he goes through a spell like he is at the moment and one for Dembele because he was the only one who can receive a pass under pressure. Grealish isn't good enough so I'm happy we didn't sign him.
Whether you, me or anyone else thinks Grealish was/is good enough is neither here nor there - the club were set to bring him in prior to the takeover at Villa. But it does show the sort of money we had available for a CM - £20-25m - and also the sort of thing we were looking for. We could have got Torreira for that (correct me if I'm wrong), but he's not really the same sort of player. We also had info (from @Hercules I believe) that Poch knew he wanted to use Sissoko in CM having previously deployed him in the AM3.

Don't get me wrong, I think we need a new CM as well, but what we as fans want appears to be out of the club's price range at the moment, for pretty obvious reasons.

If some of the first teamers are showing a lack of fire, then Poch should be giving some playing time to the youth players.

They can’t be any worse than how some of the first teamers are currently playing. At least, it would hopefully, give a kick up the backsides of the non-performing players and force them to roll up their socks or lose their place in more games.

I expected to lose that game today, so I'm fine with the result.

Especially as we're just not clicking properly right now.

Feel a bit sorry for you if I'm honest, I'm guessing you don't get much pleasure from supporting Spurs...dry your eyes and try not to let a draw ruin your weekend mate lol.

Yes and no. Clearly we’re not buying a 70 million player demanding 200,000 a week. But equally, we should be capable of landing a player in the bracket below. Dembele is gone, Wanyama is dead, Dier has been inconsistent. We’ve not spent a penny from our transfer budget for two seasons- the money should be there because Danny Rose in central midfield is about severe a form of nihilism I can imagine

Usual bbc match report. Arsenal get a penalty because of a foul we get penalty because kane was adjudged to have been fouled

We are soooo very poor in midfield. Depeleted or not its terribly painful and slightly embarrassing to watch at times. Need dele and winks back to help with proper additions in the summer.

On a side not.....trippier- jesus wept.

Sanchez had no need to even go near Aubamayang at the end for the non penalty. He was going down as soon as he felt the slightest touch.

He's had some really poor games this season for us and today wasn't much better. Mistake for the goal as well.

I hope everyone who gives Dele stick realises the difference he makes to this team.

God, we looked impotent today.

Makes it hard with a Wanyama/Sissoko creativity vacuum in the middle.

I see the knee jerk brigade is out swinging again. Once again some absolute sh*te is talked about our own players and our manager. We're not in turmoil and the sky isn't falling down on us. We're just horribly out of form. That's it. And it's been a long time coming.

Pretty much everything and everyone have been against us this season. The new stadium delay, no incoming players two windows in a row, selling Dembele, injuries to key players, post WC hang over and the list goes on. Considering we're third in the league 4 points above Arsenal and we're still in the CL with a very good chance of going further in the competition - We're overachieving when you take everything in to perspective.

This group of players and Pochettino have brought a new renaissance to this club, show them some respect and give them the benefit of a doubt and they'll sort it out.

Peace.

The point is those hurdles should never have been there in the first place .We should have bought players and stadium should have been finished .
Appreciate we have done well in the circumstances it's just some have higher ambitions and aspirations than others !
