he would have played lennon if that was the case surely?!

No. Lennon is not a right sided forward. Bale, as per Inter away, is capable of playing as a left sided forward, getting into the box and scoring. Lennon scores more when he's on the left.

Pav often drifts wide anyway and I think him and Bale could cause all sorts of problems coming in and feeding off Crouch knock downs.

Interesting lineup from the scum... I think our trio of hudd modders and VDV could outplay song diaby nasri and fabregas... which if so could leave us very strong

I can understand going with 2 big guys up front, but I thought it would have been VDV on the bench. Maybe Redknapp feels Lennon wouldn't have the beating of Clichy.

pav, altho a decent crosser, is far less of RF than lennon...

altho this discussion is immaterial, we shall see.

I'm not a fan of the line up .... were missing a trick not playing Sandro in central midfield ... I fear and hope we don't get over run in centre mid.

Huddlestone was poor against Real and clearly not fully match fit (not expected).

Van der Vaart on the wing? Why??? in poor form and lazy as fu*k.

I'd of played Sandro, Huddlestone, Modric in centre mid, Bale, Lennon on the wings and Crouch or Pava up top.

Pav has been one of our most creative players recently so it was hard to drop him imo

Thinking back, wasn't Lennon sacrificed at half time for Defoe in November? I think it's got to be because of Clichy's pace.

Oh man, I'm going to hope I'm wrong, but that line up is in trouble. We are going to get cut through. Accommodating VdV in a 4-4-2 is dumb, just don't play him.

Hope we're wrong too but I agree completely, not at all a fan of that line up, if Wenger is smart he'll just put Walcott on the left and our right side would be in trouble. Who is going to pick up Fabregas? I'm ridiculously nervous about this game now.

Pav needs this run but he also needs that goal and hopefully it comes tonight he really should of stayed in the team after his Chelsea home goal. If he plays poor tonight Defoe on Saturday I would say

I think it's fair to say, Crouch and Pav are playing for their places in the team.
