Bale still has a part to play in this tie, I just hope our Sunday League defence can give him a chance to write the headlines.

Hopefully last Gallas game in a Spurs shirt. For such an idiot Caulker and Dawson has to stay in the bench.....

They've played well but have had the lions share of luck. Bale's freekick was gnats cock away from being a tap in for Benny. Naughtons volley was on the way in but got a slight deflection. Parker's tap in was an un-believable miss. They had the ball fall favorably for their first goal and the second it was a lucky deflection from Verts that sent it across the box to sit up perfectly for a header. I know it's not a game of if's but I think its worth saying we've been a tad unlucky. There does seem a disconcerting lack of pressure on the ball in front of the defense though. Parker should be sweeping up in front of the back four but instead he seems to be playing level with Dembele and as a result neither of them are doing it.

Got to say my heart sinks these days when I see Gallas's name on the team sheet - he's not the player he was and we're better off playing pretty much anybody else in there these days

Think we'll be better in the 2nd half - that was not fun to watch! There's more goals in this that's for sure

Just saw the replay of Parker's "miss". Holtby really didn't see that coming or he might have turned it into the net himself. All a bit too frantic.

Nah he's just the golden boy can't be a scapegoat obv

This. Three times his attempted 'tackles' for a centre half have been nothing short of disgraceful, and one of these attempts was at the cost of a goal. People only see what they want to see.

There is no defending that mate, forgive the pun :)

He just can't cope with their movement, speed of thought and aggressiveness.

There just seems to be zero organisation at the back and whilst he's not solely to blame but this starts with having your best 'keeper playing - no excuses for this and it's been repeated umpteen times on this site.

Andre needs to be decisive here - a team talk isn't enough and there needs to be a change defensively.

I mean come on.. we are Spurs fans.. have we ever had it any other way?? The suspence, the drama of never achieving anything with ease and won an important game with an easy margin! Come on, my blood pressure will testify to to that.

Lolololololololololol.

So for the first goal Vertonghen and then BAE make poncy tackles which lets them through, then for the second its Naughton failing to mark people, but of all the defence SC blames everything on Gallas? Yep, sounds about right. He hasn't been good but neither have the others, and at least he booted the guy up in the air and took his booking and stopped a break. I wish some of the others would fucking do just that. Fucking hell, at least criticise some of the favourites as well.

At least we have woken up now we have put ourselves in that dire position. Last 5-10 mins was an improvement from the midfield but they have been totally over-run apart from that and not helping the defence by tracking runners or stopping the man with the ball at source.

Need more from Bale, need more from everyone really. Show that same desire we saw for the last 5 mins and we will score more goals, whether we keep them out at the other end though is another matter.

Gallas is our captain and our experience in defense. He should be the one responsible for making sure we don't concede due to shoddy defensive errors. He isn't doing that.

Gallas is supposed to be the senior defending. His positioning is bloody atrocious and therefore the backline is all over the place. The only reason he booted the guy is because he got caught out for not paying attention.

But yes I agree there are many not good enough today. Including some of the favourites. Poor decision making from lots of player including Parker, Bale and Vertonghen.

if I was boss I would put on Caulker for Bae, move vertonghen wide. Need Caulkers height but also his pace. But what do i know with my Fifa 12 management skills, I'm too cheap to buy 13:ROFLMAO:

We need a Man United style response in the 2nd half to have any chance in the away leg. 5-2 winners
