We need an out and out fullback upgrade on the left. Udogie is a wing back and one who has very little defensive responsibility in Sottil’s system at Udinese. Tbf he might be a good defender, but not only has he basically never played LB, he spends huge portions of games high up the pitch and isn’t asked to do a lot of defending, even by wing back standards.

Think Davies is always likely to be exposed up against pace. Lets be honest, he is mediocre at best and another one who doesn't get into the current top 8 maybe even 10 teams so not particularly surprised.

He hasn’t always been mediocre.
But he’s got older, the game has become more professional, the players in this League have become younger and faster and it’s not his fault he‘s retained and selected.

He gives his best….but there are faster players in circulation now.
Our recruitment has to focus on confident, young, fast players with wise heads.
