Walker wouldn't have been any better in that match if that's what you're implying, their wing backs played really and it was difficult to find space on the wing, don't think we make any judgement in regards to Trippier in that match tbh.
trippier offered nothing, he doesn't have the pace, strength or technical ability walker has that allows him to bring the ball upfield for us.

Fucking gutted about the result tbh. Once we got the equaliser I fully expected us to go on a win the match, we pretty much dominated the entire half. Lloris fucked up for their winner. 9 times out of 10 it is a routine save for him but as with every player, outfield or in goal, they are always liable for a mistake. We're just unlucky it was at such a crucial moment of the game.

Although I didn't think he had a bad game today, I just can't get over this nagging feeling that defensively we are weaker with Trippier at right back. I always knew losing Walker meant we would lose thrust going forward on that flank - it's similar when Davies comes in for Rose on the left hand side. However whereas Davies is pretty diligent defensively, Trippier definitely does not inspire any confidence. In fact, I find him quite weak in the tackle and easy to bypass. Like I said, this is not trying to scapegoat him for losing today, but i've held judgement on this for a while, and it's got to the point now I really understand why we are trying to sign Aurier.

Yep. I've been banging on all summer that he's not good enough to be first choice. The Aurier rumours better be true.

1 .No other team in the prem could have got away with them tactics
2. Conte is a feckin coward who is shit scared of us.
3. Wembley will not be a issue on that display we will smash the majority of teams playing like that and will only get better as we play more there.

4. Chelsea are filth and play gash anti football.

5. Fuck them all we are spurs.

Yes the last sentence was said in a Gerard butler accent. :X3:

This can all be rectified if we have it in us to finally beat them at their place. This team is good enough, this coach is good enough to finally put a nail in that one.

Said it before and I'll say it again. In big matches loris lets in soft goals time and time again and cost us valueble points

Not particularly surprised by the result. The back 5 with both Rose and Walker missing isn't quite the same.

I'm afraid this why it can be detrimental in not strengthening before the season starts.

Desperation stuff with Sissoko and Janssen.

But it's a marathon
It is but I was rather hoping for a decent unbeaten run for a month or two which obviously has gone today.
This was always going to be a tough season and why during the summer I was saying that I expect us to be outside the top four come may, not being pessimistic but simply this was going to be a big ask this time around but we shall see.

I know they sat back but we still lacked pace

Big vik looked knackered.

Dembele MOTM

Kane was also very good but boy does he need to pass now and again

If we play as well as we did today, or better, we will thump Burnley next week, as I'm expecting better
performances from the players that did not play well today.
Yes but beating these sides are bread and butter what gets you the big prizes are getting maximum of your rivals.

Rightly there is a lot of emotion on this thread. Was useful to watch this with a Man U fan who is a seasoned and sensible watcher. He could not understand how we were not winning handily in the second half. Felt that we were by far the better team. I tend to agree. What is frustrating is that twice in a few months we have been the better side against them and lost. Yes mistakes cost us in both games but, honestly, it did feel like in both games that the rub of the green went for them and against us.

Honestly, we play like this every game (and it isn't August --- Harry!) --- we will be in the top 1-3 spots at seasons end no doubt.

Thought Chelsea had a good game plan today by shutting down our right hand side. We out played them and silly mistakes cost us. I have no worries about playing at Wembley now though despite the result, and created enough chance to win. Lots of cynical fouling going on and on another day they could have had a couple more cards. Disappointed with the result but not much else.

The fake drum was embarrassing! Who ever came up with that idea at the club should be fired
I can't remember which song it was, but it started half way through one of them and completely killed the song and atmosphere.

Goo idea to get rid of it second half.

Sorry, Davies played really well - probably best Spurs player after Dembele.
Not from where I was watching. Didn't surprise me he was subbed. As I said he is usually a safe player but offered nothing else. In the second half he was just too static. But he was way better than Wanyama
