Dier is not a DM. He just doesn't have the ability on the turn. Saying that, Wanyama wasn't much better today. Easily his worst game in a Spurs shirt. Dembele was brilliant however. As was Kane, who was our creative force and primary goal threat.

Davies had a very solid game too, and Jan dominated Morata.

That's the third time in a row we've been the better side but lost against Chelsea at Wembley

Shout out to Dembele & Davies - probably our best players on pitch today. Davies has grown so much on me in last 6 months. Davies not making it easy for Rose to get into starting XI when he comes back
I'm a big fan of Davies and thought he was very good first half, but 2nd half he was bit of a one man shit show. That said he wasnt as disappointing as Trippier who imo is simply not good enough to be our starting RB.

Wanyama gave easy possesion to them in our half so many times. Other than that we bossed them. He wasn't on same page. How the hell Dier got subbed before him?

Not particularly surprised by the result. The back 5 with both Rose and Walker missing isn't quite the same.

I'm afraid this why it can be detrimental in not strengthening before the season starts.

Desperation stuff with Sissoko and Janssen.

But it's a marathon

Manager fucked that up. He was shattered and the result was giving the ball away for their goal.

Walker wouldn't have been any better in that match if that's what you're implying, their wing backs played really and it was difficult to find space on the wing, don't think we make any judgement in regards to Trippier in that match tbh.

Fucking gutted about the result tbh. Once we got the equaliser I fully expected us to go on a win the match, we pretty much dominated the entire half. Lloris fucked up for their winner. 9 times out of 10 it is a routine save for him but as with every player, outfield or in goal, they are always liable for a mistake. We're just unlucky it was at such a crucial moment of the game.

Although I didn't think he had a bad game today, I just can't get over this nagging feeling that defensively we are weaker with Trippier at right back. I always knew losing Walker meant we would lose thrust going forward on that flank - it's similar when Davies comes in for Rose on the left hand side. However whereas Davies is pretty diligent defensively, Trippier definitely does not inspire any confidence. In fact, I find him quite weak in the tackle and easy to bypass. Like I said, this is not trying to scapegoat him for losing today, but i've held judgement on this for a while, and it's got to the point now I really understand why we are trying to sign Aurier.

Not just Wembley though, is it? We haven't won at the bridge for over 20 years and we've been 2 up there twice with 20 minutes to go.

Its not just Chelsea though is it our record away from the Lane against the top 6 clubs is pretty pathetic! Which is concerning especially this season and maybe even moving forward given we won't be playing on the same dimension pitch as the Lane at our new ground either.

If we play as well as we did today, or better, we will thump Burnley next week, as I'm expecting better
performances from the players that did not play well today.

He looked like a small child next to Alonso and Bakayoko

Small moment that pretty much summed up the match, was Eriksen's first freekick that was beutiful whipped acrossed Chelsea's goal, Harry stretched as far as he could but could get on the end and then their was Eric Dier who was in the perfect postion if he was on his toes and anticipating the ball coming to him he would of had a simple tap in. That was the difference in the game, we didn't attack Eriksen's set pieces with any conviction or belief at all.

Agree on both points. Alli is young and will be inconsistent but I do think Poch needs to sub him some times. He shouldn't be regarded as untouchable at the moment.

thats if we have anyone to sub. barkley would be a start

Great post.

And to think there are some who rate Davies over Rose?

Davies is equally uninspiring.
