People...don't go overboard on this loss ffs. Grab your nuts, it happens like this once in a while.
Agreed.

Very hard to take but we didn't play that badly they just got a goal a the worst time possible and we didn't have that bit of luck today.
Palace are always hard to play against as they sit back and have so much pace on the break + 2 big lads up top who win everything in the air. Real huge blow to go out at home to them but it just wasn't our day.

Lets hope we can keep going in the Europa and continue our league form.

This defeat hurts but lets calm down.

Class kneejerks will be Onomah and Bentaleb and Walker.
Walker has played really well all season and wasn't that bad today just isn't as much as a threat as Rose or Trippier.
Onomah is 18 for goodness sake to be getting in and around our team at that age he's clearly got talent.
Bentaleb I was disappointed with, just doesn't seem himself. Probably because he's pissed off he's not 1st choice CM any more I do wonder about his attitude sometimes.

Anyway onwards and upwards. Fuck the cup and fuck palace.

I thought Onomah was better than people are saying. Still only 18. Not everyone is going to shoot to stardom like Alli are they? Okay, he wasn't great. But, neither were the rest of the team in the 2nd half especially.

Personally think Son should've stayed on longer at least. Looked our biggest threat.

No one in the team pressed effectively today, their mentality wasn't right.

He tried to mix his up his passing, it didn't always come off but compared to his recent chances, he was under control for the most part.

He's also very rusty and that shouldn't be forgotten.

I disagree that he was our worst player,
Under control? Under control of what? Did you see the amount of times Palace countered us? We had no midfield whatsoever because he kept going forward and exposing us. He had no discipline whatsoever. There were shades of last season today when Mason and Bentaleb started in our midfield and offered no support to our defence whatsoever.

Tried mixing up his passing? What? You mean that when he realised his short passing wasn't connecting, he tried hoofing it long? That didn't work either.

I haven't even mentioned his lazy, selfish shots on goal from about 35 yards out.

He's rusty?! Wimmer played one game all season before Palace last month and he's not looked out of place whatsoever.

Come on man, you're starting to sound like the annoying Algerian fans who tweet "Where is Bentaleb?!" after every team sheet is announced.

He was our worst player today, whether you like it or not.

It's what you implied, you're just knee jerking as you wouldn't have mentioned not giving him a new contract or the need for another striver if we had won.

Can't win em all dude.

Ok fair enough. I've edited my post as I obviously didn't articulate myself properly. I'd say the same thing if we'd of won today too.

The new striker thing still stands though, although I did think Chadli might come on and grab one.

Better not rush out and reward poch with a new contract just yet then. Let's see where we are in the summer and maybe give him one then. No point rewarding him just yet.

Edit: putting this edit in here because people haven't read it properly or maybe I wasn't clear enough.

If he qualifies for the champions league then without doubt he deserves a new contract with higher wages. But what's the point rewarding him now (this week) if he doesn't, with 2.5 years left to go. Makes much more sense to do it in the summer.
I see you edited your post but my oh my this post is something else...

Worst post ever...

shit, half-arsed performance by a team who looked like they didn't wan't to win.

That is why Bentaleb isn't in the team. What an awful, lazy performance. Vorm, Rose, Walker, Mason, Bentaleb and Eriksen all awful.

The only positives to come from that game was Onomah and the fact that it was hopefully Vorm's last appearance for the club this season.

We better fucking win on Thursday.
How can you say Rose and Eriksen were awful! And Vorm, what did he do wrong?
I think I watched a different game to you.

Didn't see the game, but the BBC report seems to think the defence wasn't too good. Being the stingiest defence in the PL isn't very Spurs like but Toby has been immense and holds everything together, even with Verts injury we are doing OK because he's there with Wimmer

So as well as having no Kane cover being a nagging worry in the run in are we a Toby injury away from it all going tits up as well ?

Right anyone who's slagging off Onomah - outside now. I've got a sock filled with pool balls.

It's like people forget how everyone thought Kane was shit early doors. Same with Rose.

Give this kid time. He's very talented, he's just trying a bit too hard to make an impact at the moment, he needs to relax and feel comfortable in his game, and we'll see what he's about.

But it may take time and a bit of patience.

OK so to some on here think 'we are blunt' going forward, and 'pick the wrong option', and 'aren't decisive enough'.

WTF is up with you? We are 2nd in the league and have scored the 2nd highest amount of goals. Is that cos we're blunt pick the wrong option?!

One of those days........we had enough chances in the first half to have won it within 45 mins, but some bad luck, poor finishing and decent keeping meant we didn't score.

Onwards and upwards, would rather of lost today then say against Swansea. A draw would of also meant a horrible fixture congestion so maybe just maybe it's not the end of the world and levy doesn't need to sack Poch after all

You must have done because you are very, very wrong.

Vorm made no attempt whatsoever to stop the goal, rose made two mistakes leading up to the goal and put in a generally half-arsed performance and Eriksen did absolutely nothing when he came on.

Gutted, but lets move on. would have been lovely to win the cup we are most associated with but there's always next year. If we get through the games against fiorentina and swansea this will be forgotten. Its the first week in March that will make or break our season. Looking like west ham will massively fancy their chances.

Shows how important Toby is after watching this game. Natural leader of the team and wimmer plays better along side him and dier goes back to his best position
