Vorm made no attempt whatsoever to stop the goal, rose made two mistakes leading up to the goal and put in a generally half-arsed performance and Eriksen did absolutely nothing when he came on.

He had a good game overall. Bit off the pace but some of his 20/30 yard progressive knocks were great. Masonesque.

When he does that and doesn't try to style it too much he's very effective at setting off attacks from deep. When he goes all hollywood to try and impress the world it goes wrong for him.

It's a key thing he has to learn that will determine how far he goes in the game imo.

disagree with you assessment of his overall performance today but wholeheartedly agree with the other part. He really needs to tone it down and keep it ticking over. Every ball (not literally but it felt like it) he was trying to ping a killer ball. Thought his defensive contribution, or lack thereof, more than negated any contribution going forwards. He is young however and he will learn, if he is willing. And I for one really hope he does because I think he has much to offer, just not in the "star of the show" manner he is attempting now.

He's not ready for this level yet.. there's real talent there & he needs to show more composure in the box.. a loan next season where he can gain confidence in that area is a must.

Perhaps this game will make people realise how important Lamela is to our team and the way we play.

Lamela could score a first half hat-trick against Barcelona in our first CL tie and save a penalty before scoring direct from a corner and some people would say he should be dropped for not playing it short to eat down the clock.

He'll always divide opinion even though he has time and time again been the much needed catalyst in so many of our important wins.
