Im struggling to work out if this is poch's gameplan to defend then counter or whether its planning out that way because they are far more technically superior than us?

This isn't staying 2:1

They have all the chances and possession and we look like we can score anytime on the counter.
50/50

I'd get dembele off though. Think he's been a right liability out there.
Trotting around not getting close to their players. Giving up possession, passing woeful, not keeping up with play.

Think I'd rather sissoko :S Jesus forgive me but Least he'll offer something on the counter

If Sissoko was sounder defensively, this match would be set up for him to play a big role wth big runs from the midfield.

Midfield bring over run. Dembele, Dier and Eriksen all turning over possession way too easily. I can't remember the last time we had this little possession in a game.

They've done a bit a number on our midfielders, obviously studying their preferred movements, and where to catch them with a two man press.

Dembele Wow. What an absolute stinker of a half.

Pulisic though - he is gonna be some player.

Eriksen and Dembele, if he still is playing, needs to know where they are suppose to be. They are everywhere and opening up spaces for those bees unintentionally.

Haven't been this impressed by an away team in some time. Hadn't realised what an immense talent Pulisic is. Not sure how we approach this second half. Probably more of the same and hope for the best.

Christ that was like watching snuff porn. Need to drag Dembele off in the second half who has been terrible, I'm not his biggest fan but I have never seen him lose the ball this much. Is he even fit?

Haven't seen us be dominated like that in a long time. Surely dortmund can't continue at that pace. The real shame of it is that their keeper is dodgy as, if we keep getting shots off we will have a good chance of getting more just need some control

Tricky one for Poch at HT this.

Clearly there is a need to retain possession much better with our hold up play in general poor but we carry a genuine threat anytime we venture into there half on the break.

Dropping Eriksen further back into a three but a choice is likely needed to be made on one of Dier or Dembele and whether Poch goes with the energy of Sissoko to break up play and be a threat on the counter or the nous of Winks.

Need to get this right - despite the lead this game is very much in the balance and any scoreline is plausible at this stage

Dembele has had a shocker because of this they know he likes to use his body to roll away so they prevent him by doing so by getting it before he receives it.

He's had a shocker to be honest may see him subbed off

Disagree. We're holding our own and winning against one of the best teams in world football, who never lose and don't concede goals.

I really don't think we held our own there. I can't imagine this was the Poch game plan..

I'd have Dembele off. He's plodding around and the game's passing him by. They're too fluid for him.

We need to try and get a foothold in the game and keep hold of the ball for a period.

Well, what can you say... Sometimes the other team is better, which is what Dortmund are in a lot of aspects - they're even more aggressive than we are, with the press and with how they move the ball and numbers committed forward, and have us massively on the back foot and trapped in our own half.

And yet this leaves gaps at the back, an area where they are already at their weakest... And we've got enough quality that two moments is all we have needed to find ourselves in an inprobable lead at HT.

The odds would be that if we can't get more of a foothold then eventually they will find the breakthrough... But you'd also think we will have a few more opportunities to counter. In these moments we've got to be very rapid, and very efficient.

Gonna be a long 45 mins to watch I suspect.
